I'm a member of both a conservative and a very liberal websites. Wanna venture a guess which one has less of a pot hating attitude? WRONG! It is the conservative site. There are haters of legalized herb at both sites but the the conservative one has a much more vocal pro-herb group. Go figure.
What strikes me about this bit of news, if true, is some S.O.B. took the picture and couldn't wait to cash in without regards to Phelps future. I mean hell-the picture taker was at the party (guilt by association). Phelps hasn't been a hypocrite on herb. He hasn't come out and said it ok nor has he said it was good. He was kicking back and enjoying life. He's earned it. But some son of a bitch snaps a supposed picture and now, if allegations are true, he's done for as a swimmer on the international level. I hope the picture taker got his 30 pieces of silver and chokes on it or I hope the picture taker develops a nasty rash in their sexual regions. Either works for me. lol
If true, maybe this will lead to the national discussion on marijuana.
Pot certainly doesn't give an athelete a competitive edge against "straight" competitors. Maybe that's what Phelps, if true, was thinking. Giving the competition a hand up.
Smoke pot doesn't stop from becoming President. Look at our last 3 Presidents. But it will stop one from competing in the Olympics. Seems right...stoners with their hand on the "button" but not in the swimming pool. Yeppers...seems right. (sarc off lol)

I think that it's a good thing for cannabis, as it flies in the face of stupid braindead theories that only losers and underachievers smoke weed, which is the perception that many ignorant people hold. Here is a dude, the best swimmer and Olympic athlete on the planet, and if he feels like taking a few bong hits at a party, then that's his business.

Everybody fucking smokes weed nowadays, it's good that more high profile and famous people step forward and get revealed as pot smokers.
