PB: how do you know the strain carries a lot of other cannabinoids? the type of high, or a mass spectrograph?
I make a painkilling topical oil. Pot is only one of the materials.

The very best oil that I've ever made included weed from the bag those two seeds came from.

When I make it right .. pain cells get turned off like a light switch. It works in seconds.

Anyway .. floating gentle yet potent high. Longer lasting. four hours or so by smoking. Creeper takes 20-25 min to fully kick in. Sleepy effect.

All of those are symptoms of other cannabinoids besides THC.

Given the ruderals genes, I strongly suspect CBD.

MS ???? I wish I had a MS shopping list I could use ..

"Scuse me sir .. you got a strain with high amounts of CBD and THCV? It'll probably have a sweet fruity smell about it. And while you're at it do you have any essential oils from the plants? You know the stuff that smells like you're in the middle of a weed field about to be harvested? I know it doesn't get you high."

KO: The silver generator was surprisingly easy to make. got the silver wire off ebay for like $10, just need an old charger (anyone with electronics they dont use anymore should have a spare wall charger or two lying about), some styrofoam (cardboard would work too) and a spare jar is all u need!
Ill let you know if it works. should know in a couple months, maybe sooner...

MR: i dont have much experience with outdoor strains, although many breeders list whether their strain is appropriate for outdoors or not. i would think any decent indica hybrid that finishes in 2 months or less would be fine. thing with outdoors is that you're exposed to a lot of factors: weather (i know all the spring rain last year just killed a lot of plants), animals (deer love young mj plants), etc. Luck with weather and how well you protect them might be more important than which strain you put out there...

PB: That oil sounds like the shit. so u just rub it on your skin and it can get you high? what will they think of next...

AL, OB: Welcome to the forum! dont be strangers...

UPDATE ON THE CLOSET:

These shots are almost a week old. This tub is not quite right, some of the clones were flowering when put in (ive since corrected that by covering up my light leaks), overnuted as well (GH Flora series is strong, strong stuff). Gonna get some decent bud off this but future runs will be a lot better. :rasta:

Shots of the Thai stick. It's budding out thanks to the phosphoload but the buds are still light and airy and not really filled in. <sigh> This will probably be the last time i run it unless it turns out to be really incredible smoke. Somehow i doubt it's going to be any better than a modern day hybrid; it's not even that resiny yet.
It was also light burned so i had to raise the light. It really is that yellow, unfortunately... this is why people shouldnt mess with landrace sativas indoors... :joint:

Bababooey - I have to bring this up again :) Just curious, zero disrespect, but it looks to me like your temperatures are too high. I believe fan leafs curl as a drought defense.

I could be dead wrong, I just want to know. Anyone else care to share their opinion?

Yeah, if temps were an issue, you'd see the leaves start to cup upwards, not downwards like the Thai is in the pic. Baba, what's your nute regiment look like for the thai stick? I ask because Thais have a natural propensity to curl downwards, although that extreme of a curl could signal a heavy hand on the nitrogen.

dj.scotfree -- thanks for pointing that out!

astartes - thanks for the info.. i had thai plants with downward curls and i thought it was because of a problem with temperature...didn't know it was just a trait! thanks

CM: I think temps are a little on the high side, ambient room temps top out at 75f but closet temp with lights on is probably higher, maybe 85 tops? A bit on the warm side, mos def, but workable, my hybrids seem to do ok.
not all the leaves on the thai curl downwards, but most of them do, the small ones more than the bigger ones. the ones closer to the light seem to curl more also.
i think the downward curling leaf thing is most definitely a thai trait. i think excessive leaf curl is indicative of problems, like with my light burn, but i think it would be near impossible to grow a thai without SOME leaf curl (based on my admittedly limited experience).

AS: the nute regimen.... well lets see, im using the lucas formula, i put 1/2 TB of floramicro and 1 TB of floragrow when i first mixed up the tub, then another 1 TS of micro and 2 TS of grow about a month later (which was like 2 weeks ago). Since then, and in between, only ph corrected tap water.
EC sits at about .42; even when i put in the nutes 2 weeks ago, EC didnt go above .50. My tap water is about a .40 or so, so i dont think there's too many nutes in there, but im not gonna put anymore in till i see it start to look undernuted (what does that look like btw, lol, i dont think ive ever undernuted a plant before...)
im also avoiding putting nutes in there because everytime i do, the damn thing stretches another few inches, even though ive put phosphoload in there twice so far (very little, maybe .5 mL per gallon).
maybe i should phosphoload it again? the 'load has some P and K in there; be nice to induce more bud growth...
i dont know, the whole thing is really more trouble than its worth...

Baba ---

I'd dump out the rez and change to bloom nutes for the Thai stick. You're past the point of needing that much nitrogen judging by bud development. Likely, you're slowing things up and confusing the plant by having mostly nitrogen accessible as opposed to P/K. Not what you wanna be doing with an already long flowering Thai! Also, don't expect those buds to ever really fill in and become dense. Thais, as pure sativas, have a naturally open bud structure.

PhilCuisine Plants are looking great! I'm also sorry to hear of your friends passing. I'm sure you'll make one hell of a tribute strain...very honorable gesture! I've heard about that Ms. O'wreck quite a bit... Looks like some great smoke!

reddy1 WOW! Those buds are beautiful! I grew some DP Shaman outdoor last fall... It turned purple but not like that:smoke: I have a question about one of the pics... Does that bag have scissor hash or shake or kief or what? sorry

Bababooey Great work Baba! I might have to make some crosses if that silver generator works out for ya! Wow that Thai is huge!

Sorry guys no bud shots yet but my new mothers are doing very well! Should be cutting clones towards the end of Jan to mid Feb... fingers crossed!

MR, AS: thanks for the tips, i think ill go ahead and give it another shot of phosphoload and a shot of GH bloom. i think i need to give it the load because it will stretch if i give it more nutes, and i cant afford any more stretch (that light needs to shine on the other tubs).
yeah, im guessing that ill never get the really dense buds that a hybrid would produce. well, i just hope its potent.

PB: congratulations. u should name him... 'bob'

PC: Sorry to hear about your friend. ill send up a prayer for him. im sure its ok that you didnt do it sooner...
that's an impressive collection right there. so would u say youve maxed your setup out? im hoping to have a 4th tub in within a couple weeks.
the strain list is impressive as well. do you think you could tell the difference between the strains by their high, or are some of them so similar that they have basically the same high?

RE: wow, those buds look so frosty and purple, they look like grape candy nuggets. if they tasted grapey, that might be a forever keeper.
my rooms still pretty warm. were ur temps like 65 or lower? i imagine the growth rate might have slowed some...

DJ: what cloning method are you using? rockwool, rapid rooters, peat pellets?

JLP's SDOGs (SourDiesel Ibl x OG Kush) F2's. 6/7 popped (the 7th was an unripe seed).

In soil. :rasta:

Bababooey: Hey man! I think I am going to do a couple different cloning methods. I am comfortable with the peat plug (EASY & My Choice) and I just got a 18 site aeroponic cloner (Little HARDER? & Friends Choice). I know that the aeroponics work but... I made one myself and it didn't end up working... I went back to the peat plugs and haven't looked back (2 years).

One of my best friends already has a Volcano so one of my other good friends decided to buy the Vapormatic Deluxe... I love them both! They seem to be pretty similar in usage to me. Only real diff I see is the price tag. I kinda dig the 1950's Diner design of the Vapormatic!

I'm kinda congested & sick right now so these vaporizers are wonderful!

gotta love the vapir brand vaporizers!! yours looks much cooler than my vapir 4. dig that retro styling. i saw on the tv show "manswers" that vaporizers give you 92% of thc from bud, bong was 70 something and joint was surprisingly low. 2 bags and i'm done. my tolerance is much lower these days.

a great way to stay healthy too. you may want to try to vape some eucalyptus or mint oil. so soothing if you've got a cold.

bababooey-i set the thermostat to 62 at night, 65 during the day when i wasn't home. i saved money but i paid for it with the cold nights. it slowed growth big time like you said. this is an 8 week strain that i chopped at 11,, extra long flush+long dry time is rewarding smoke. those sdogs should be amazing. great genetics. do them proud.

i clone in pure coco and get 100% roots in 14 days. easy if conditions are right.
