oh my fucking god last nights show blew my fucking mind!!!!

i came in after raging in the lot halfway through the allman brother show, after some crappy obama video, the dead took the stage and opened with a killer truckin! after an extented jam they went right on into us blues, followed by a killer help on the way > slipknot > franklins tower. this was preceded by an ok playing in the band and a really nice darkstar > space > darkstar, which went right into a really rockin st stephen. after steve, they went into a pretty extended unbroken chain, which was a nice chill time after close to two hours of dancing... this was followed up by a really nice "the other ones" which went right into throwing stones, the set ender was (as expected, after the first one) a playing in the band reprise.
the dead left the stage to a massive roar, only to return five minuets later for phils usual donor rap, and bobby said a few words.. without further a dew they played a really killer encore of first: touch of grey, and with no pause, an EXCELLENT not fade away, and while the entire stadium was chanting "no my love will not fade away..." and doing the clap dealio the band all commenced on the stage for a final bow to a roaring standing ovation!

did i mention they played just one set? but it was about 3 and half hours long and ABSOLUTLEY ROCKING!!!

this weekend was fantastic, and as i sit here typing this post and smoking on some killer bubble hash i scored in the lot, i still cant whipe the silly grin off my face thats been permafixed since last night

Hey, whats up everyone??? I was only in the 4th grade when Jerry passed away so unfortunately I was never able to see the Dead, but I have seen many PHil Lesh and Bobby shows etc, as the Dead are one of my favorite all time bands. I have been collecting bootlegs of live shows for a while now, and I was wondering what some of your favorite shows are??? One of my all time faves has to be 6/7/77 at Winterland in SF. I just love that year, Godchaux was my personal favorite pianist for the band and he just loves to play his Grand, and I just love that sound. Sorry to ramble..... Grateful always.

That's what I needed to hear....spring tour. sounds like the boys lost some of that retirement money.
I recently saw Ratdog and was moved at how Bobby has taken the torch and walked with it. It's like he is channeling Jerry, in a way. can't wait to go to these shows. It looks like I'll be with you stoned teacher!!!!

Wondering if the Skyboxes are available for the MSG show. Would be good to have a hardcore group of heads all squirreled up. As far as I know smoking is permissible in the boxes.....plus it could be catered and stocked with all sorts of spirits!

Yes Barton is one of the great shows. Right now I'm playing "To Terrapin" Hart Ford '77 -5-28-77.

Great second disc.
New Minglewood blues
Candyman
Passenger
Brown-eyed woman
Promised land
Samson & Delilah
Tennessee Jed

Perfect with a couple of Valcano bags of Rez's Mindfuck and sunshine and I'm there all over again (25 shows in 77')
