MEG IS DRY!!! YAY!!!

So, Meg was the shocker of the 2 Apollos. All along I was soooo sure that it would give me a max of 1.75 oz...well I was wrong. Meg weighed in at 68.5 grams!!! The nugs are dense, and there are a lot of them. So my first run in the CFL cab with only 2 Apollo 11 plants ended up totaling 131.5 grams dry. Nugs from Meg & Jules below. I only just found this thread - but here's my IKEA minigrow, not quite finished - I think they're in the same range - whoever knew IKEA were such grow innovators? HIGH-KEA


the box still needs...

6 x 30w blue cfls (one on order - should arrive tomorrow - just enough to keep my two babies alive til I have funds - these bulbs have a built in ioniser btw - something I never heard of)
1 x circulation fan (mini/cheap/clip on jobbie)
...and foil on the roof - I cant believe I didnt notice that when I had it upside down earlier...DOH!


I just soaked 2 WW seeds to see where they would go. in another room I have a dr120 with 2 x 400HPS - anything that appears will get finished in there.

Hey Kahl:
I'm glad my grow has inspired another to try CFLs. CFLs really aren't bullshit, and let me tell you I was SUPER skeptical in the beginning. I used to grow with 1200 watts in flowering; I was positive that little to no herb could be grown in CFLs. I WAS WRONG!!! If you start a thread let me know, I'd love to check it out.

Thanks for stopping by. Apollo 11 is a great smoke, I've been enjoying it Ya know, this thing is a bitch to clone. I've tried three times, and I will be trying again in the next few days. I've taken close to 600 clones in the past, this plant has given me the most trouble. The first time I had a 100% success rate, piece of cake. The last 2 times it's been a disaster, but I think it was more my temps than anything. The first time I had roots in 10 days, so 3-4 weeks sounds bad. What method are you using? Have you had success in the past? Keep us updated.

Thanks for stopping by. Ikea definitely has a nice selection of grow-drobes Everytime I go in there, i don't see furniture, I see tons of grow boxes, lol. Lookin good so far, how are your temps? Guess you don't really know yet since you haven't installed all of the bulbs yet. Keep me posted on your grow, I'd like to check it out.

I started out with CFLs almost as an experiment, very skeptical. I didn't want to go to a hydro store so I got everything from HD and Wally world. In my IKEA cab I wanted to run 2 chambers for flowering; the CFLs were cheaper for the type of system I wanted to run. I also have a 250W HPS Cab. The CFL cab runs a little warmer than the HPS cab, but my CFL cab has more points of light. Once my Electric Hash Plant in the 250W cab finishes I will be able to make a better comparison. I'm working on the design of yet ANOTHER cab , this one will be 250W HPS also. I will prob run a cool tube in there as well, but I think this time I will buy a cool tube instead of constructing one like I did for the last cab. Anyway, thanks for the kudos and thanks for stopping by AP!

do you have plans to (or have you ever) run exactly the same clones in the same mediums with the same feeds to do a comparison between the two rooms? - I know there is a lots of compartive material out there already - but I'd be sorely tempted to find out for myself once and for all if I had the means to do so (running 250watts of red cfl is currently out of the question on my limited budget, and my sodiums are 400s, but I'd love to try it side by side one day)

I haven't run a side-by-side comparison yet, but it would be awesome. I'm working on my first run in the 250W cab (in coco too!), so the comparisons will come with time. Maybe around the fall or late summer, we'll see!

I'm trying to get some feedback on Trainwreck. I've got some Trainwreck IBL on the way, and I wanted to know details on growing this strain (feeding, deficiencies, etc). I know that the stems are flimsy and it needs support from like day 1, but what else??? If anyone has any tips/pointers, please holla at a girl!

High buds! Props...? hell he gave me the damn seeds...lol. But yeah that was a very nice run that id be hard-pressed to duplicate at this point.....lol.
Im not sure what i have cooking now...lol. if you clik my new strain link, Im pretty sure its the Satori x NL cross. It certainly grows and smokes like it...lol. Killer smoke, though...lol.

But lots of renovations going on here on my end. New coco room is almost in full swing.

as promised, heres a photo of the inside of my finished High Kea box.

I added a single 125watt blue CFL and a clip fan - temps are a steady 27c (80f)
