Good stuff!

Good stuff!

Hey guys - letting you know I'm lurking in the background taking notes. I am starting my first indoor grow now start to finish in a small mother tent. After I get the hang of things, I will be building a light mover for a office supply cab 3' foot wide to mount my 150 HPS. This is a very interesting and inspiring thread, even as younge as it is.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I'm happy with the progress, but can't wait to get this grow on the road. My seeds should be in soon, maybe a week and a half, 2 at most. Good to see someone from all the way across the pond RealSupreme, great buds you have btw. Thanks Kush, I'm putting a lot of love into this and I know it's gonna pay off. I've always had a green thumb, gardening and such, so I can't wait to see my beauties grow. Good luck with your grow nomad. Are you gonna have another cab or tent to preserve a mother(s)?

I'm going out of town tomorrow and I'll be gone a week. It's gonna be tough because a family member is passing most likely, don't know why I shared that, but anyways. Once I get back things will be pretty close to starting. Stay safe and stay up everyone. Talk to you soon.

Peace,
White

HEY Pig-Pen, yeah, good point. Well, I considered this a micro because of the size of my cab, not really my plant #'s.

FRIENDinDEED, nothings stopped, I'm just out of town till the weekend. Once I'm back, I'll be going full steam ahead. Yeah bro, dedicated is my middle name, right after green-thumb. BTW, green IS good! Stay up and stay safe. Talk to y'all later.

Peace,

I'm not dead

I'm not dead

Sorry for the lack of posting guys. It's been over 3 weeks and my seeds still are "Awaiting Payment" I might need to reorder this week, due to cash being lost in the mail (so much for being anonymous). I was thinking of going with Mothers Finest or Jack Flash from Sensi. Any opinions on either would be appreciated.

The cabs are basically done after some work this weekend, just need some paint. And then I need to do my ventilation. I just picked up a new HPS light last week. It's much better than the one I had before and it's already setup w/ exhaust and glass! I'll use my older HPS for another cab I wanna build after I get this current one off the ground.

I'll get some pics up later in the week of the painted cabs. Hope you're all doing well. Stay up and stay safe.

Peace,
White

Hi Everyone. This is still happening, I have to keep reminding myself of that. My goal was to have seeds sprouted by Jan 1st. But it may be the middle of Jan or the 1st of February before that happens. Sorry for the loss of momentum. But if there's one thing to take away from this is don't quit, no matter what.

I'm not getting into my reasons for delay, it's not for here and now. All I can say is, I put some work in last night and made a 14 point punchlist of everything I need to accomplish in the next two weeks. (I'll post the Punch List in a bit so everyone can follow along.)

One big item on the list was how to deal with my water drainage from the frequent hand watering I'll be doing. I looked high and low for a plastic container of some sort, but could never find the right size. So, I said screw it, and made my own reservoir for catching runoff.

Step 1:

Drink beer (Schlitz to be exact) and Cut Wood

Step 2:

Nail it Together

Step 3:

Paint the boxes

The boxes will sit side by side in my flower cab. I had to make two boxes so I could fit it inside my cab from the top. I'll probably put some Henry's sealer over the paint and I'll cover the boxes with visqueen and tape it down.

DONE!

Also, I painted my cabs last week:

Please excuse the mess, it's still under construction. Hey, got a quick question for someone:

I have a HPS w/ a vented hood/glass. I'll attach a carbon filter to the air intake on my HPS vent and I'm wondering if that could also serve as my main exhaust for the whole cab. AGAIN, I'm exhausting my HPS w/ a carbon filter and wondering if this could also serve as my main exhaust (with proper rated cfm fan of course)

Thanks guys. And Happy New Year. Stay up and stay safe.

To save space for the water catch i have used a pond liner that was cut to size and then velcro was put on the liner and wall. It made it able to be attached and detached easily. It worked great.

Thanks for the tip OahuGrown. I might use that in the future, this will only take 2 1/2" from the side and 1 1/4" from the front/back. But that pond liner would be handy, I'll remember that.

You've got the right idea, this should be no problem with a cab your size. just calculate cfm and scrubber size. i was just cruisin and your thread caught my eye, u've def. got ambition, and balls. Lookin clean so far keep it up!

Hey Brothers, thanks for stopping by. It's great to see you Thundurkel, hope everything is good with ya bro.

Thanks for stopping by Kahl, always good to see new faces. And welcome to IC. Yeah, I knew it would be fine, thanks for the conformation.

Oahu, I gotta admit, my ego was bruised for a sec when you gave your suggestion about the pond liner. I mean, I spent over an hour and a half measuring, cutting, nailing, and painting those boxes. Then I see this real simple alternative, and I'm like damn, what was I thinking. Well, I was just gonna keep the boxes and say screw it, BUT you really got me thinking.

Bottom line is, I did The Math and all I can say is....... Well, I'll let the numbers speak for themselves:

Original Cab dimensions:

23" deep x 41" wide - 943 sq. in.
total sq ft = 6.54

Cab dimensions with Boxes:

21.5" deep x 38.5" wide - 827.75 sq. in.
total sq ft = 5.74

Lost square footage = 0.8 sq ft

I triple checked my math and all I can say is that I would have lost a lot of space. I'm gonna fit 16 bottles per sq. ft. so that means with 0.8 less sq. ft. I'd lose 13 plants! Thats approx. 89.6 grams of bud (at 7g dry weight per plant)

That's between $1,300 - $1,700 street value in my neck of the woods ($20 per gram / $50 per 1/8)

So, needless to say, I'm buying some pond liner and will find another use for the wooden boxes. Sorry for the rant, I just wanted to illustrate the point of always heeding others input/advice and always having an open mind that looks at the facts and seeks to better their grow by thinking it through. OK, onward

I'm posting my punch list below to keep myself a bit more accountable to finishing this. And, I thought others might like to follow along. So here it goes:

Glad to see i could help. Looks like were about the same level of finishing a cab except mines is now where as big as yours.

Good luck...its getting pretty expensive for all the materials but i guess in the end itll be worth it.

Hey everyone,
Hope you're all well. Thanks again Oahu. And thanks Quazi, I appreciate it bro. I worked until 5am this morning because I had to finish all the major wood working last night. I'm kinda tired, but the results are worth it. I'm gonna post my updated punchlist and some pics. Red text is finished, black isn't.

I reused the wood from those boxes I was going to use for a water catch and built a frame with two shelves for my clone trays to sit on in the Mother/Clone cab. But there were so many problems with it once I put it in that I had to scrap it entirely. It was too heavy, too wide, bad access. I just sat on a paint bucket kinda pissed off and tired (at 3 am). Then it hit me, use those plastic bread trays behind the grocery store. So I jumped in my truck and got some. The were the perfect length, I just cut 'em with my table saw to be the right width and built a frame to support 'em.

Also, I bought the top for the cabs. I got it marked down because of a little damage, it will look great once installed. I mounted the drawer fronts on both cabs and sealed them with Great Stuff. Also, I built the support to hold up my HPS in the flowering chamber. It was a busy night and morning.

I found the perfect trays for cloning. I'll be able to fit three in my Mother/Clone cab (72 clones per tray). That will give me room for up to 216 clones. The Mothers will be on the left side of the cab. By the time I get multiple mothers, I'll have built my Monster Garage Cab and then I can use my current cabs for more Mothers and breeding. But to start out, this will fit a few mothers, plenty of clones and work just fine.

Next, I'll mount my doors and CFL's. See you soon. Stay up and stay safe.

Peace,
White
