I'm new here but been lurkin for a while. So I don't want to start a fight.

I see Alaska Morbloom mentioned above.

What's the feeling around here about phosphoric acid as a P source? That's organic? Why or how can that be?

potassium chloride is a natural salt K source, but wouldn't all the chloride ions released be harmful to the microbes?

Any mold is bad. You can save it if it's not to bad just dry it out and let it sit. Soil must be very dry to kill off the mold spores. Mold loves wet dark warm areas. I always keep my soil dry until 1 week before I need it.

It's fine. Just mix it up and remove the lid of the can every day or two for a minute or two from now on. I keep a 55 gallon drum of the stuff on hand.

High Brother Bear! I think if ya jus take the lid off yer container fera while the mold will die. It's not gonna hurt anything. I've had it happen quit a few times over the years. About yer plants, have ya been useing liquid karma with every watering?..... Hammerhead, hi, how goes it? I jus thought I'd mention, if yer makin yer own soil ya need ta be wettin it up alil and mixin it. Those micro critters need some water and lots of air ta do there thing. Plus the moisture helps the lime to start breakin down. later, BC

A little help

A little help

Burnone, I am in need of some help, I have been growing a couple of years, with not the best results. So I am going to do

LC Soiless mix #1
5 parts Canadian Spaghnam Peat or Coir or Pro-Moss
3 parts perlite
2 parts wormcastings

For neuts I am going to use #5 fish and seaweed.
I have a couple of questions I was wondering if you could help me with.

1. Should I use any B1 supplements?
2. At what age should I start useing the veg organics?
3. How often should I use them?
4. Will I be ok to just set my water out for 24hours or do I have to bubble it as well?

Sorry if that is asking to much, thanks for your help. I hope to get everything on track soon.

HH I soil recycle now myself and I always keep it moist but not wet.
I take the major roots out and add ammedments right away and moisten it, this helps any roothairs compost back into the mix, the longer a mix compost the better IMO.

Welcome to IC.
You don't need to add anything else.
Wait until the seedlings are three to four weeks old. Then use a half dose of the 5-1-1 fish the first feeding.
Use plain water the next two waterings. Then use the 5-1-1 fish full strength as directed on the label every third watering. When you go to a 12/12 light cycle for flowering, use the 5-1-1 fish for the next two weeks full strength every watering. After two weeks, the stretching should be tapering off and you can use the 2-3-1 fish/seaweed every watering until mid flowering. Then use the 2-4-1 fish until harvest.

Oh one other thing, should I be adding the, 1 capful Neptune's Harvest 0-0-1 Seaweed with everytime in veg when I add ferts?

And will Maxicrop fish 5-1-1 be good for veg? I was not sure if it was the same thing you were talking about. Thanks again

You can use seaweed all the way from germination every watering. Maxicrop or Alaska 5-1-1 fish is fine.

Allright, just a few more things, I promise. I am going to use cups into 3 gal pots like you said eariler in the thread. But when is the best time to transplant? Around how often should I be watering this mix? And should I be useing full strength in the mid and late flowering?

No! I said CAPful NOT CUPful! I know for sure that Maxicrop 5-1-1 fish and 0-0-1 seaweed use 1 CAPful per gallon of water.
You should water your plants as they need it. They will use less water when they are small and more when they are big. You'll figure it out.
Use Neptune's Harvest full strength. You can use it every other watering. That should be enough. Every watering won't hurt but you may be wasting it. Look at the plant and learn how to see what it needs. You can use plain water the last two or three waterings so the plant can finish using up the fish.
Buds put on a lot of weight the last two weeks of flowering. Another one of the benefits of organics is the fact that you can feed the plants all the way to harvest.

OK got the capful, But what I ment was, I am going to use 16oz cups to start the seedlings in, then when should I transplant them into the 3gal pots? I just was not sure how big to let them get before I transplant them out of the cups. Thanks again

They can go in the cups a month or so. Make sure you punch a 3/8 inch hole in the bottom.
I've seen your soil mix post. I suggest using one of LC's Mixes. You have everything you need if the dolomite lime you have is powdered.
Water with worm casting tea while the seedlings are in the cups. When you transplant them, hit them full strength with seaweed. That will help them to recover quickly. No need to disturb the root ball when transplanting either. The next watering, hit 'em with half strength 5-1-1 and they should jump. Plain water the next time then full strength 5-1-1 and seaweed every other watering until the second week of flowering.
Let me know if you need any more help.

What soil mix post? I am going to use LC #1 mix. I got Jewerlsem organic powder dolomite lime. Thanks for your help, I tried to read as much in the tread so I would not be asking you the same questions. I am going to do a grow thread this time, as soon as my perlite comes. Maybe you can check on it from time to time. Thanks again Burn One
