I think the DC/ALF hybrids will work out awesome... :yummy: Its just the autoflowering trait percentages that I'm worried about... Hope we can keep them mostly AF... :chin:

Hey stone locust, thanks for stopping by the thread! I appriciate it!

Glad you are enjoying the Carpatian, Karakoram_way. Hard not to like a line like that.... Sativas normally are the long flowering ones... :headbange

Stay tuned for an update here in a couple days... The clear sunny weather has broken and now we're in a trough of moisture.... Fingers crossed tightly for some precipitation... Much needed around here... But its not emergency dry yet.... The gals are down in a valley anyway... No worries....

After a couple days of rain chances there's more sun and cooler temps on the way! :headbange :canabis:

Love the shot... :yummy:
but please don't post for breakfast time..you know I have a Problem..
and she made me Starving. :joint:
:biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

karma sent for the right ripening weather m8.

pipe..I have just been asking Mr C about that too.

On the non-af's that I back-crossed with a full 100% AF hybrid..
which is the same as you would be doing.

I have only managed a few small test runs..
so it is not conclusive but
I would estimate that I am only pulling about 25% AF.
not a problem..but not what I expected either.

Easy to sort on the f1-f4 though as I expect you will be hybridising out to stabillise the DC content in the cross.

I plan on doing some refining with the hybrid one way or another.... She should be quite the auto once we're done, absolutely can't wait! Sure would be nice to have an indoor garden about now.... :drum:

Rain's about to hit.... better chance for it now! :woohoo:

After it passes we'll make a trip out to check and make sure all is ok... Don't want any fallen branches laying there this time of year.... Stay tuned.... :smoke:

Wow killer thread and pics and plants Pipeline!! You and your girl definitely know how to get down in the garden!! I didn't have a great year for tomatoes.Romas yes but salad no.I've grown german johnsons the last two yrs.I get them down south in April.you ever grow them? I think they are too heavy for the north.A better drought tomato I'm thinking. My bf and I want to start utilizing a hoop house etc to get tomatos earlier.Do you use a greenhouse at all?
Your sunflowers are beautiful too.I"m an avid bird lover and feed alot so I always have some naturally seeded throughout my gardens..lol.
I was tending the girls this morning and thought of you because my garden was infiltrated with honey bees.I was very happy to see and hear them.I let the weeds get really tall in the back for various reasons :)..One being they are loved so much by the birds and the bees.
Your plants are beautiful.I like the Bog medley x sage..yum.Sage got me ripped when i smoked it..Good flavor too.I love all your pollinations too.I've got a couple early durbans I'm waiting on.One is very main stem like yours. Not as far along though..Heres wishing you and your gal a super harvest!! Oh one more thing..I'm a big morning glory grower.Got climbing all over everything every yr..lol.What kind of morning glory is yours?.Her leaves are HUGE.I thought it was a sunflower!..Peace

Thanks Budlover, its really been a blessing of a season over here! This is my first year growing romas, and now we have salsa.... Won't ever grow a garden without them now.... :yummy:

I haven't heard of german johnson tomatoes... I had big boy this year which produced some good 3-4 inchers.... Beefsteak are too big for me... I like smaller and flavorful... Not a lot of experience with different tomato varieties though... might try some amish ones next season...

I built a cold frame for the first time to use this year... Got a little protection when needed, but I wasn't really much earlier... Going to start a few select veggies and herbs indoors next year I think... Then they'll have a greenhouse to harden off in... The trick is, you reallly have to be there to open it up in the afternoons when it gets too warm.... The temperature swings wildly in the spring, and one day I went out there and it was probably well over 100 and humid as can be in the cold frame.... Caught it in time though so everything was fine.

Last season was my first one to grow sunflower but I only had the boquet hybrid mix, so none of them got much over 4 ft... :D Will always have sunflowers around, they're the only ones that seem to be able to keep up with the herb.... And their heads get HUGE!!!

Glad to hear theres a good honey bee population around your gardens... They're truely amazing creatures...

I love the morning glories too, beautiful plants.... I think I've got 'Heavenly Blue'.... They do seem pretty happy to be where they are... Climbing up corn plants on the far east side of the garden....

I like smaller and flavorful...
Me too..larger ones just don't have the same depth of flavour.

Love sunflowers too..
like to keep the seed heads for the birds..but over here they are ant fodder..so I had to throw them over the fields.

S

sow the seeds

Very interesting ideas on the ALF x DC crossings. A fully auto seed batch would be sweet and I would absolutely be interested in that whenever it came out. Glad the outsiders here on IC are doing very good work with the autos. :rasta:

And pipe you can have some of our rain, theres supposed to be a hurricane coming up the coast hitting us soon. :badday:

"Very interesting ideas on the ALF x DC crossings."

We thought so too. :yummy:

I wouldn't count on a fully auto seedlot after the first cross with DC... 3/4 of the progeny being auto would be a good outcome in my book.... We'll probably get some of that rain eventually, wishing you and everyone on the coast safety in the coming days....

We shouldn't get hit here.... May get some of the reminants from it dropping rain though... That would be just fine... So long as things dry out...

Update in a few days.... Got another set of clouds coming after a couple days of good sun.... :drum:

hey pipe, here's a quick update.

6 ALFs left, one is in a hydro unit.
1 SBBx3 x SBBx4
5 Night Hail Ultra

two cabs going. WOOT.
30w cfl for veg/mother box
220w hps for flower box.

they're growin like mad. i had a bug problem, i think they were springtails. little bastards were jumping around when you stirred the soil up. i'm about to transplant them into some better soil, with bonemeal bloodmeal, and some of that plant tone. i'll see about putting some pictures up, but i'm still without the internet on my computer and working off of my friends.

your garden looks great. how's that early durban?

cheers

Thanks Banjo! For sure, move outside, you won't regret it.... :smoke:

Thanks for the update, soxx. Glad to hear you're up and running! Now that you have your seasons separated, it will save a lot of waiting time that is otherwise wasted trying to let the plants grow out in vegetative stage.... Should improve on the time/bud ratio you've grown acustomed to.... Grow on! :smoke:

Early Durban was awesome... Smelly as can be, may be the strongest stinking plant to date in the gardens.... Potent too! They don't call her Durban poison for nothing... A little goes a long way.... Leaned indica in effect I think... Still another one to go if I remember right... Stay tuned for an update in a couple days... :rasta:

Checked them early this morning.... half of them were laying down on the job!!!! I knew we got a pretty hard rain a couple days ago!

Took a little time and effort, but we got them all stood up and staked.... There were a few small spots of mold.... Clipped them out and the big fan leaves that were dried up got pulled off.... Wey hey a little extra smoke while we wait! :yummy: What I thought would be a one or 2 hour trip turned into a 4 hr.... and the smells..... oh my, such variation.... One perun had a distinct body odor smell.... Had a subtle difference from the real thing, but it sure is a close match.... Must be working hard out there.... :D

Fattening and resin production are through the roof... I'll try and get the update posted this evening.... :smoke:

Cheers I wish I could be there to smell them.

I always find girls with seed are a little more prone to mold in late season.
As long as it is a touch they should be okay.
(never had any more trouble on the Whore..so probably not mold..but I am pleased I cut it out..I hate mold)

:biglaugh:
One perun had a distinct body odor smell...
I have one like that.
Odour Macho male sweat#1.
It runs with a strong kick bud..hope your does too.

I need photos.. :yummy:

I have been to Buddles thread she has photos of her girls fattening they look lush.
I love the fattening season.
