Here are some photos from yesterday of the veg cab, cloning cab, and a temporary set up I had to slap together to hold all of the clones.

First an update on the large clone I took, it's showing roots! :jump: :jump: :jump:

I cut all of this way back tonight. Also pinched everything I could to help slow growth for a few extra days.

The Clones

I found BUD ROT in 2 buds last night, nasty shit! Bought a 70 pint dehumidifier today, lesson learned. :spank: No pics, I kind of freaked out and started carefully cutting as soon as I saw it. One was a main cola, I had to take the top 1/4 off. I'm about 10 days from harvest so hopefully I'll be alright with the rest of them. Both of these were "in the weeds" under the Monster Mandala's.

throw-away pile

Rather than cut out offending bits, I cut off the buds they were on and the buds they were next to as well. The stuff looked ... undead. No way was I gonna smoke that.

You should turn that big clone into a mother, veg her out, then take a bunch of identical clones and blow your grow room up with them.

WOW Freezer! Ii didn't get hit that bad. I saw some strange looking brown/copper leaves and knew something was up. I lost enough to hurt, but nothing like that.

IGT, I took a few more clones like that one, I'm trying to get one from each plant. As soon as I have most rooted, I'll sex a few. The Grape Krush has proven to be a little harder to clone then the AK or Ata Tundra, the first round from the last grow, I lost all of them. It's funny, I would have figured the smaller clones would have rooted faster then that large one but that hasn't been the case.

The 400 watt CMH Veg Cab

The 400 watt CMH Veg Cab

SomeGuy hit me for some cab porn, tonight was an all out cleaning so here are a few shots.

I cut the bottom out and put it up on a 1x4 frame to give it another 4" of height. I knew every bit would help. The res sits on the bare floor which helps keep it cooler and of course it's in the dark, the light is blocked by a shelf with the top tub recessed into it.

Stacked and filling, pump in place. Yup, that's duct tape, I stepped on the filter housing. The overflow drains directly over top of it creating a water fall effect on the returning water to provide D/O, there is no air pump in this system. The timer is in 1/2 hour increments, plants are feed ever 4 hours for 1/2 hour lights on, once lights out. There is also a small pump in the res that runs 24x7.

Still to close to the bulb and getting some leaf burn, I just can't seem to cut it back enough. The Lowes Super Tubs will bow, the upper tub is suspended from the sides, no center support. To fix the sag, I cut a 2x4' plastic grid for a floro light and set it in the bottom, it also acts as a fantastic root grater when you move pots around. The Super Tubs are 2x3'.

Here's how the light is recessed into a "shelf" and the whole panel moves up and down. When you see the cab, it's seperated into 3 chambers, res, grow and electrical. I run a 400 watt CMH bulb, bare, no air cooled hood. I made a baffle out of sheet metal that blocks light and directs air flow from above. You can't see it in this pic but there is a 4x8 rectangle cut out of the back with a prefilter for incoming air. The carbon filter is in the grow chamber, it pulls the air in from the back of the cab, through the 2/3's missing panel from the reflector and into the grow chamber where it's sucked out by an elf carbon scrubber via 4" inline fan. Closed the cab runs about 2-5 degrees above room temp depending on humidity.

I realized I never posted any closed pics...here ya go. On top is the clone cab. The veg cab doesn't have a lock per say, but to open or close it takes a specific way and a well placed jolt. The handles would break before those panels moved if you tried to pull them out. Have you ever documentary on Moonshiners and Rum Runners from the prohibition era in the US on the History channel? You can learn some pretty cool stuff from those guys.......

Finally jumped in the flowering room before lights on.

Tub A

Tub B
Mandala Safari Mix....it's going way past 90 days.... it's going to have to go through a flush and will get neuts when the Grape Krush gets dropped in. I've raised the light up about 5 inches, it still extends up past the light about 4 or 5 inches.

Some of the flowering AK 47. You can see the different pheno's Some look finished and some look like they have 2 more weeks.

And the cola tops that had bud rot.

I'm having a tough time with getting clones to root from the Grape Krush. No problem for the AK-47 or Ata Tundra. I have 7 plants, identified by the number, 1-7. I starting seeing roots last week and got happy, later I checked they are all from plants 3 and 4. One is a mutant so I don't care about that one but I'm just not getting anywhere with the others. Some of these were cut on 8/6. I'm looking for any suggestions.....maybe I'll throw together a small wick cloner and try that way.

Some strains are harder to root than others. If other strains rooted in the same cloning method then dont assume its a problem with your cloner. Its probably the strain.

I hear ya on that one man. I'll leave them go until they root or they die. I've lost better then a handful but I've been able to replace them as I pull them out.

The Grape Krush is going to flower on Monday....I have to figure out what to do with the Mandala Safari Mix plants that have overgrown. I thought they would be done by now, we'll see how they do during the flush for the AK.

Peat

Hey Murphy,
GK didn't do well in my bubble cloner, but did VERY well in peat pellets.

Great thread you've got here...I've got some catching up to do...

Don Cotyle

Looking great BRO!!! Peat has a very good point with the peat pellets! I've used em before to clone with! My method is simple, I put 10 cuttings into peat pellets after scrapeing 4 edges of the stem and dipping into cloneing powder. I them put the cuttings in pellets into a 1 gallon zip lock bag after trimming the leaves back some. I soak the pellets and breath into the bag and seal. Every day I rebreath into tne bag and reseal and water as needed, after you see a good rootsystem do as you usually do!

Good luck with the Grape Kush cloneing

It's hard to see but on the left side of the pix you can just see a gallon bag hung from a cup-hook(it's best to hang them in the light then trying to set them up normaly) Hope this helps Murpgy!!! Don :joint:
Sorry I didn't take any good pix =P

It finally happened.......the plug got pulled on the veg cab and the clone cab last night. There are about 20 Grape Krush plants and 4 AK's sitting in darkness with no more neuts pumping.

On the brighter side, the flower room hasn't had the plug pulled yet. I'm flushing the latest AK run and it's my biggest yet. I'm not sure about the other tub yet. I may have to chop 4 Grape Krush plants that are 3 feet tall and about a month into flower.....

Still, it was one HELL of a ride. Thanks to Mrs Warden for letting you out to play as long as she did.
