Backcountry- Great job man... has the rains been killing ya??? I've taken about 5 at LEAST two weeks early cause the mold was overtaking the plants!!... Just about everything I got outside that has buds 4wks or older are gettin affected..
Not to mention the damn COLD we have been having... is tingin all my leaves purple!!
I have already found mold! This is the earliest I have ever seen mold in any of my plants, usually Oct 15th is about the earliest, and its not a big problem until around the 20th.
I don't think its the rain so much itself but more its the humidity, its been staying around 80-100% for weeks now, only dropping to 60-70 near the end of the day, and then shooting back up after the sun goes down.

I took a trip out to my big plot, for the first time I took a good buddy of mine who I have grown with before(3town), we were also Deer hunting. I decided I wanted to check the plot out and make sure no one had broken or sagging branches due to the rain, and also to check for mold.

I found 6 small spots of mold on the C99 x OR95, and one spot on a OR95, these C99 x OR95 that were kinda mutated and extra bushy seem to be very sensitive to mold, their younger and less bushy sisters are not looking like mold risks at all, with buds and leaves not so close together.

I'm going to go visit my biggest C99 x OR95 tonight and see how she is doing, if she is having major mold problems I may need to harvest slightly early, although she looked like she might want to finish soon anyways last time I saw her.

Otherwise everyone else seems to be in good shape, we will see!
Oh, and I too have noticed the purple starting in many of my buds as well! The weather folks say we are having temps 15 degrees cooler than normal these last few weeks, and it shows!

Just harvested. Found some mold, not much, but enough to not wait for more. I am very surprised at how little mold there was for how much rain and high humidity we are having here in the PNW. They could have gone another 1-2 weeks IMO. I was very happy to see under a scope that 50-70% of the trics are cloudy. I have NO idea of the strain. It was a gifted clone and was supposed to be Sour Diesel. Wrong. She has a fruity smell. They have been slightly seeded with some Willie Nelson pollen. Both Willie's turned out to be males.

Out of 3 plots this is the only one to make it to the end. All 3 were experiments in seeing if they would be found. I am very happy with this location. It could hold 5-6 fully mature plants. So next year I will be stocking it with more clones.

Looks like to me 3-4 oz of final product. :jump:

Eastern WA checking in! I started growing my medicine 2 weeks ago.

Right now I've got 3 bagseeds going in soil and 3 150W cfls in a nice little RedGreenery-style rubbermaid setup. I'll start posting pics when my post count allows it.

Hey BC and everyone else in the PNW. i used to represent on the old OG thread and have just found this site. some of you may remember me some may not. nice to see everyone in the PNW on their own thread. i just started a spring outdoor grow but sad to say i think im gonna sit this summer out. last year i had about 9 plants goin outside and were sadly lost to rippers with more than a month left of budding.... hopefully they tasted heavily like the nutes i was pumping them with ha.

what up guys? anyone getting their grows ready to start putting out? i think im sitting this year out... sad to say but yea. last years grow started out really promising but the lack of water gave people access to our grow when they could just walk across to the island that previously surrounded with water.this gave them too easy of access to our grow. unfortunately the entire grow was lost to rippers with over a month left in bud... heres some more PNW outdoor plants for the thread though..

HookHittaH, It's good to be back this place is good for my motivation and my inovation.

TheBluntedOne, How big do you plan on veging them before putting them out? Do you already have a spot lined up? Have you ever grown NYCD outside?

Peace, SSSSpaceman SSSpliff

Time is getting close for putting your plants out for the long season! If it is warm enough for this guy then it's probably not going to freeze again.

What does everyone have planned? I have to sit this season out but would love to help and watch others grow outdoors. My plans for this season were to utalize the garbage left by loggers as a natural cover. Around here loggers fell a forest, cut all the branches off and strip the bark in the feild leaving the debris where it lay to compost naturally. This makes the land surface most un-useable and difficult to travel across. My plans were to use the stacked branches as a shield from view in a natural bowl shape. Then to run nylon cords from multiple points on an angle, running down to the soil surface as a guide for rain and dew. Native americans use a cord like this in tee pee's as a rain gutter, because water travels along a constant surface via gravity. Also flat rocks draw moisture to the surface so soil topped by flat rocks will hold more moisture and protect plants from being dug up by vermin.

This year I am determined to use local materials as much as possible to build the soil. I have been packing in some coir, bat guano, lime, moisture crystals and a small amount of compost for top dressing and to give my starts a good start. Mostly what I have at my disposal are large quantities of rotted, fallen, partially burnt trees and nice fine pine humus. I may dig right into the decayed remnants of some of these old logs and amend from there for my final wave at altitude.

I'll be putting at least one plant in an old hollowed out stump that looks like a great 20-30 gallon ready-made planter. There's water everywhere right now but it'll be gone soon. Time to start ferreting that away to minimize hauling.

The stars of the show so far are the G13 Diesel, Hashberry, and Chemdog D BX#1. The vigor of the Hashberry is unreal.

Green-Genes77, Useing local materials will save your back a little. How tall is your rotted out stump? We have some rotted out broken trees that still stand 20-30' around here that sounds like fun :rasta: .

SunnyDog, Looks like you have this season well in hand. How big to you grow them before taking them out? Do you have a certain time frame you take your plants to the spots? Last one; Do you transplant before taking them out.
