I'm never particularly comfortable with all the elitist stuff....though i see the commercial reasons for the premium section.
But is there no lower time limit for membership to become a premium member? you can just join and pay some dollar and you're straight in? - i think maybe a year or something might be a good idea...
I noticed someone posting a commercial clone list in there who joined the site in late January ! - there should be a way of stopping people in the biz using it as a cup-price way of running a biz rather than paying for a vender forum.

If the limit was lowered more people would abuse the system for personal gain. IMO
On the private sites that have drawn greatly from here, everybody is vetted and approved by the whole community.

There's nothing special about a membership when money can trump loyalty proven over a period of time. Whatever this could've been was stopped dead in it's tracks when money ruled the day.

How sad that Joe Blow with $20 a month to spend on ego, now has priority over a 17 year member that has donated knowledge, genetics, money and time.

Maybe VIP should be removed and it just be called (The Lounge).?? $20 doesn't make anybody interesting or knowledgeable, it certainly doesn't make them valuable in the industry.

I lurked as a newb because this forum was well over my head, I treated it as my cannabis encyclopedia when I needed to research something. Plenty of it's still over my head tbfh..

Learned how to convert an old fridge into a grow space, watched the wall of weed transform over a few seasons, seen beautiful outdoor grows flood.. several times. Read some epic threads over the years.

You could always count on an education from icmag..

That's why it is 10years + 1000 posts or 420 reaction points. And keep in mind it's not hiding from the others, but giving more to those that put in some work and stayed around the forum long enaugh. Not sure what makes you unhappy about that.

It doesn’t make me unhappy. but I saw yesterday that someone started a new Bhodi thread because the old one was for veterans only now and I thought it seemed counterproductive. I don’t even like Bhodi so I’m not complaining about any loss. And I don’t know anything about the details of the new changes. So maybe I’m getting it wrong.

it used to say the year the person joined under their name.
was there a reason for removing that?

it is not removed, probably some set it to not show to public, it is at the privacy thing settings

@exploziv Where are the 420 points counted?. If it's most points it seems to be maxed out at 113. I don't see anyone higher than that. ..The reaction score goes much higher. I can't see who is lower than 18k.

you can get Veteran status both by :

10 years old membership and 1000 posts
OR
10 years old membership and 420 Reaction points​

My reaction points have been on 113 for years. No one shows over 113. Unless that's something only mods can see?.

@Hammerhead You can see reaction points on user profile. There are many under 18k. It's the "reaction score".

Scores or points there different I wasnt sure. I can only see top 20 people On the list. Most points is not what people should be looking at.

Yeah there is a bit of confusion cause they are called reaction points in the forum Control Panel. But a score is made of points (right?), we thought it is clear enaugh.
