@silkroutetosalvation is an amazing page and its got some very cool true f1 hybrids this is the closest ive seen to haze A progeny . mong sat x f3 nld andarab hindu kush. mong sat sits right on the burma/north laos border. so i looked up all mong sat neighbors. alot of very special plants seem to come from this "golden triangle"

starting at top and moving clockwise we have-
mong sat female used in the nld kush cross is first pic then rest are the f1 progeny

whats a mong ,,
is that sposed to be hmong ??
Well, in fact is the same Hmong people but different spelling
He is referring to this town

And ILE has a strain with very poor germination from 2019 called Mong Hsat from this town
They are very different from the cousins from the other side of the border
It is clearly not a commercial strain and I dont know if this is from someones private garden or something feral. Boys and girls look the same and have similar structure
So only 3 seeds germinated from the 10 pack from 2019, 1 after 4 days and the other 2 were born after I gave teeth to the seed. One more showed root but didnt make it
These are the Mong Hsat boys. The taller one is the one who was born alone. The shorter one and the girl are the tooth cracked seed
Mong Hsat males.jpeg

The Mong Hsat girl is super long flowering one, this is not commercial and it is so different from their neghbours just 40-50 kms away
Pictures of the girl from last week, we are into june and looks same same, this advances veeeery slowly, probably will be ready by next spring equinox making it 6 months flowering from first pistil
Mong Hsat (12).jpeg
Mong Hsat (14).jpeg

I crossed the tall male with Laos and a couple more random plants but I stopped after seeing the advances, at this time of the year Mong Hsat seems to be a not practical plant and this is obviuosly not commercial but you never know if this thing packs a high or not until you harvest it and cure it
it has excellent landrace resistance as all of the other south east asians and sexually firm all of them so far

ahh , thanks for clearing that up funky ,
i did scratch my head a little since the hmong hill tribes are quite well known ...

by what you say , that stuff could well be a little feral ,
, maybe not much selection as the other landrace stuff has had,
if its getting cold where you are now maybe they are not comfortable either ??

you crack the seeds open with your teeth when they are stubborn to crack themselves ??
thats a neat trick funky ...

Yeah, it is getting cold here in winter, it is cold for colombian and venezuelan people here, for me being used to Bangkok and south Thailand it is cold too, for me 10C is very cold, I burn wood at the chimney with this weather
But I look at the climate chart on the Mong Hsat link and my lows are the same as Mong Hsat for this time of the year and my highs are around 25C or more almost every day inside the greenhouse
Mong Hsat is not complaining, they seem to like it here. This Mong Hsat girl is growing in the same GH as the other thais, thats why I love growing side by side, and the difference is as big as when you cross from Thailand to Myanmar. I would have thought plants would be more similar but I think on feral because it doesnt make sense to breed such a long flowering strain unless the high is minimum 4 hour trippy 3 toke weed

I lack fine motricity so for me using tools for cracking seed is not a good option. Basically I use same technique as tooth cracking sunflower seed, a lot of plants have been saved this way. I sourced a lot of old seed and this is the best way I found for germinating them, better success than using earth worm castings
If after 4-5 days seeds dont show roots, I crack them and around 30-50% come back to life if they are not more than 5 year old. For older seed % is lower but some of them do germinate

@Piff_cat have you grown out any of that golden highland Thai from Hypr3ids? I grabbed a Hunter pack of Uptown Haze and another I can’t recall and he was kind enough to throw in 1/2 dozen of that IBL Golden Highland Thai. The Hypr3ids web site has great photo galleries and descriptions. Lots of great genetics there. TY
i havent grown it yet but its at the very top of my list. hyp3rids in general seems to do amazing work. the highland thai on their page initially caught my eye because i really like the non serrated sugar leaves which tend to be very high in stalkless(peltate) trichomes. this is because they contain cbc, cbl and cbt which are rarely found in stalked trichomes. this is the key or one of them to the euphoric long lasting high coming from haze/se asian types. most commercial strains contain very little of these type of trichomes selected against for more "bag appeal" or a higher calyx to leaf ratio. in particular cbt is a genetic marker showing up in haze A progeny but not C. the cbc type trichomes show up alot on the underside of sugar leaves, stems even fan leaves in the best examples. here are some of the best piffcon results high in cbc, cbl and cbt along with pictures of brainstorm haze x g13haze, highland thai from hyprids and bottom a5s1

You really are a mentor ya know. I cannot overstate the gratitude I have for your unselfish reply. I always learn more better lol

I just got my indoor tent set up and hope to have some other limited indoor space with adequate ceiling to finish some Haze this fall when the weather turns. I definitely will drop those Golden Thai IBL from Hypr3ids. TY

I believe they are in the UK
That’s incorrect
The postage on the mailer indicates Sweden

As I mentioned to @Piff_cat their website is awesome and descriptions of strains and genetics are top level. I’m following on IG as well and they stress transparency regarding the business model.
Very nice customer service and talked me off the edge regarding shipping.
I’ll be interested to read your take should you post anything here

From my order email:

Your pack went out today. Please let us know when they arrive.

We currently send regular airmail as we are finding it's the fastest way (tracked is much slower). Your beans are 100% guaranteed so if they do not arrive for any reason we will replace them.

thanks m ang ill be looking forward to seeing your progress with those lines. i think were in a haze/sativa renoissance right now and growing them can be so enjoyable. the access to landraces and haze clone onlys we have now would be unimaginable to me even 10 years ago. seeing a page like hyp3rids is overwelming cuz ya wanna grow it all.
the sssc african haze on hyp3rids page is another hidden gem . in 89 nevil let sssc use the haze C male to pollinate their durban poison 34 it won best sativa at the cup in 89 i think. anyway few years ago akbeanbrains got his hands on some old sssc gear which included the original f1 durban x haze C. beanbrains did a preservation run and now hyp3rids has made some lines with it . theres so much potential in this particular pairing because its not a hashplant cross. very few 69 haze male outcrosses to a fellow sativa and the females hyp3rids found look great and unique.

Thanks, much appreciated. Yeah I had checked their page about a month or two ago, but had not really heared anything about them before. Checked it again last night, they have some interesting stuff for sure.
