Was it compared to a different "sour"? I know it sounds crazy but I gotta ask?

When you say it was the loudest in the room, what were you comparing it to?
don’t know anything about different sours back then because there were no different sours around here in CNY .. this is before Soma crossed it caused even more confusion but he did have the proper clone , and also way before that rezdog idiot ass ,,but the points moot I know what it smells like it either is it or it isn’t Albany SD it’s easily recognizable A shitty grower could grow it and it would still be good and you could still recognize it and smell it I know this because I’ve seen that happen ..you know for years I was growing C99 and super silver haze as my two main strains but SourD blew them out of the water.. and those were both strains I was known for they served me well…C99 was really sweet tropical fruit mixed bag super silver haze was really peppery spicy they were great but the sour diesel astringency was way preferable

Looks killer hell yeah dude. Someone sent me the Loompa with King Louis XIII but she did not root. I got the other OG type Headband cut though. She's been a picky bitch for me. I finally got a badass run in with her now. The 56 Day Headband is what a lotta people call her. I am gonna make a new thread here soon for all the Headband cuts.

Again I’m just curious let me know why you think you actually have the Albany sour diesel what’s the backstory on the cut that you have to the best of your knowledge please thank you
The Albany cuts backstory I'm not 100% about. I have heard a few things. People claim its the cut Manny popped in 1996. I do not know if that is the case or not. I'm gonna do a side by side with them here shortly. I got a tissue cultured cut of the Sour D from 96 that Manny popped from the "Our Diesel" bagseed on the way. It looks the closest to the one I got from my grandmother so I wanted to run them together also. But I am really curious about the Albany. From my understanding the term "Albany Sour Diesel" is fairly new, but the cut is older. A lot of the heads I talk too and trade with love the Albany cut. I know a couple people that prefer the Albany to all the others. She seems pretty healthy and grows well. The Shroomy420/Amish cut is supposed to be really really similar to the Albany also. One thing I see with the Albany cut is she comes out looking really fucking good. Sour can look kinda ugly but that Albany looks bangin when done well.

Bro all these terms and designations for sour diesel are “new” lol …that’s what I’m trying to tell you there’s only one & it’s sour diesel..If it’s not the sour diesel then the point is moot …It’s pretty self-explanatory it should be extremely sour and extremely gaseous fundamentally so and extremely potent..It should blow you away it should be your favorite weed in the room by far

I'm glad you mention Soma. What does he actually have to do with the SD story, he gets brought up but nothing is really concrete. He won the cup in 01-04 with NYCD so he made that supposed afghani x mex hybrid before 2000. Is the NYCD where OD / Daywrecker come from with the more sour/orange flavor vs lemon diesel of the ECSD. ECSD sure looks/acts like a chem91 x NYCD/OD/Daywrecker hybrid to me.

Does the Original diesel coat your mouth like ECSD?

I really can’t answer those questions but I do know that Soma got the sour diesel clone obviously , and it was the proper and that’s what he used to make his New York City diesel which apparently was really good

This Albany is sounding interesting...

I still think the "sour" we are all looking for, is really a diesel tho...

The one Im talking about smelled a lot like a boxwood bush in the sun, when its oils are giving off a strong smell. Deffo woulda been the loudest in the room

who has the ecsd cut that was going around the forums around 2003? The stuff you can smell down the block when its in your pocket, flavor that sits on your tongue forever... Been through 4 cuts, even a diseased piece of garbage direct from JJ. I need her back in my life. Im sure I can make it worth your while in trade.

Don’t forget that I am working on ancient memories I Started hearing about it in 2003 and then I got it around 2005 and then lost it in 2008 the cops stole it from me only seen it twice since then sporadically last time was 2016 like already mentioned

Eh kind of. Yeah there is only 1 cut that was popped by Manny in 96 that was originally called "Our Diesel" then Sour Diesel. Which is bagseed from Diesel #2 from Swell and Vondo. But its apparent that there was other Chem/Diesel bagseed popped around the same time that produced very similar plants. The Millennial Sour Diesel was acquired as a cutting in Oakland in 1999 as "Sour Diesel". There is also the variegated ECSD/Hunter Mountain cut. Also around about 1999-2000. Its possible they could be S1's. Its also just as possible they are bagseed from other Diesels. So if you wanna get like super technical about it yeah there is only 1 cut Manny popped. But thats probably not even the cut most experienced as "Sour Diesel". At this point Sour is becoming like OG. There is obviously several cuts early on, the people involved have conflicting stories, it was 30 years ago and everyone was dropping acid. Cannot blame them. But the cut Manny popped was originally bagseed from bagseed itself. Nobody bred anything at that point. My point is though, that I would not exactly call the other cuts fake. Up until recently everyone thought there was only one Sour and everyone had the same cut it just looked different in different rooms. Thats partially true, but not the truth. The history is interesting for sure but I am more interested in which ones smoke, grow, and breed better. Having sister type plants of Sour to play with will be kick ass. Just as Sour is old Chem/Skunk genes blended together in such a special way, so are these other cuts that come from the same time period. I personally think its fucking awesome there is multiple cuts to grow and smoke. I love Sour and seeing the different variations has been awesome.

the sour I've had is pretty much on par with the D as far as the dirty oil rag but has an astringentness on top of it I always want to describe as "pool chemicals" that turns my nose up even more than the D, like it's actually kind of an "unpleasant" smell

there is the line from a Flatbush Zombies song "my face looks sour cause I'm smokin' it guy" and that's what it's like it kind of makes your face scrunch up because the flavor is so intense and astringent

That's not what he said in the recent-ish interview with Gypsy. Or he does grow and like Sour but it's not in NYCD. IIRC

I remember him saying something like two completely different plants

I have had some very nice gassy nycd and it never had the halitosis or the chemical dirty oil rag edge, it was more of what I would call a "nicer" gas smell, not really like sour where you're like wtf is this and have to keep smelling even though it's kind of bad/strange
