Chasing The Present
Just blessed 🙏 to have many haze lines,

Anyone encounter the serrated leaf mutation in their haze. this pic is from todds site of sams offering
It occurs in many skunk lines as well

hope to work thru these soon post some pics here
Mutation ..!? Not quite…. Triple Serrations ftw, haha, I’m sure I’ve shared pics of triples before…

it’s so common in so many lineages (haze included) of plants it’s as much to do with nutrients & health as anything else

have only grown 6 s1’s of cbh clone

most pheno’s..the ones that have the resin and smell ..also have sedation..

i held onto one that has none..

I love it but it has its problems like it could have way more resin and it burns like crap....

s2’s have not given me any better

bandaid...imho ..has sedation ..is quite similar to the nice looking cbh1’s I culled..

and has little personality ....

but maybe that's just me..

I haven't found a Ohaze yet that didn’t have too much sedation....

idid have one cbh x ohz plant that had little sedation and a very good euphoria..

..unfortunately it was not in the clones I took

so it can be found

but yeh maybe I just need to focus and grow out 50 females or each

I had one male and two females of Oldtimer haze.. this one is 16 weeks and just about done, she was not the best one in terms of buzz but looked like an Asian ,,maybe Thai? Looks similar to a plant I grew from bagseed and it was a Thai stick back in 1982 and cost $20 a stick and didn't finish indoors til late Dec. My other female seemed more Columbian as you can see a branch of it in the background. Happy belated St Paddy.. not here for drama, just knowledge

what a great thread......god bless all the people around the world who have tried to preserve these great landraces that are on the verge of extinction.....

regarding the reddish-colored sap, i have seen only one plant do this and it was brought from Vietnam and cloned over and over again......the plant was so potent that one bong hit brought me to my knees, literally.....it was absolutely the best i've ever come across, pure connoiseur head-stash, and only a select few had access to this plant.....

Thanks for all the old photos!!!! You know, the leaf morphology of some of those strains is just not seen anymore......that really makes you wonder about how many other unique genetic profiles we have lost as all those land-races became extinct.....the cannabis plants from the past seem quite different from all the indoor poly-hybrids of today, just based on leaf morphology alone......

:ying: kind regards from guineapig :ying:

many many called it rope...most seeds loved to hermi and give you not great potency.

I had 10 chosen Dalat beans from 99 plants Deewee along with a bunch of the from origin ones

Dalat took ages to finish and gave calyxes on a stick colas

but

one of the 10 chosen seeds and lot of work gave me possibly

the most happy energetic sunny long lasting highs I can remember ..

I ended up smoking the stems

I lost that cut due to illegal and needing to cull plants

do miss it ..? ........yeh

This sounds exactly like the Sour Thai Nevil Gringspoon type pheno I have.
We smoke the small stems/sticks to 😆 but surprisingly still taste amazing and not harsh like sticks would ( there so many trichs in stems and must be so much Terps you don't notice any bad or harsh taste , just that beautiful Exotic taste.
And the Cleanest High I ever experienced in all my years

this pic ive fully pollinated it but il try dig up some pics of the flower without seeds but looks exactly same just smaller size calyx without the seed

It is absurd that neville said he got 1969 O Haze seeds from the Haze Bros.
#1 Neville first traveled to USA in 86 or 87 at the earliest, the main Haze Brother, R was gone, retired in Mexico by 82 he did not come back for 10 years. He was the one that created O Haze. The second Haze Brother J quit growing O Haze about 1980 and only grew Skunk #1 after that, until he became a reborn christian, then he quit growing, and anyway recently he told me he never met Neville and he certainly did not sell any Haze seeds to him or anyone else ever.
#2 The Haze Bros had a falling out in the late 70's and stopped talking to one another, for certain they did not sell seeds as the Haze Bros to anyone, it is ridiculous as well as impossible.
Lets be honest Neville got the seeds from me, but he had promised me that he would not make pure Haze and sell them as such, I told him it was fine to make Haze hybrids with other varieties that were not mine.
He broke his word and started selling Haze pure and hybrids with my varieties, and I stopped working with him.
Maybe he lied to avoid the problems that accompany breaking your word? I can not say, but I know Neville did not meet the Haze Bros and did not get any O Haze seeds from them. Both the Haze Bros were close friends of mine and both were close neighbors for years, J lived a few hundred meters from my house until he departed to Mexico.

Old old post but every time I read it, I believe it.

It passes the smell test. I have it copied and pasted in my phone.

I’ve read many summaries of the Haze origin story and the thing I try to remember is “what’s goin on” in America around 1969. A lot. And a lot of it was scary shit to the “older generation” was it not? Radical ideas were especially prevalent in California. I got there later but found a lot of generosity of spirit everywhere I went. There was a certain gravitas amongst true connoisseur’s (especially those who would blush if called THAT) I loved sharing my weed with anyone based solely on good vibes. I was young and idealistic. I have certainly gotten older and a bit more cynical but I still believe in community and that most people are decent. I never rely on what others say about someone (that’s their reputation, not their character) I just let them show me who they are, and if you spend enough time observing without judging, they will show you.

Anyway I just think Sam made a deal with Nevil and Nevil broke his word. I cannot prove this but it just rings true to me.

Why would a man lie about meeting Nevil and selling the poor bloke some seed considering he (Nevil) really didn’t have anything as good as the Haze Sam brought from California. I was NOT there but the story is posted elsewhere. Sam don’t know me and certainly don’t need me to jump into the ring BUT….

A man’s word is sometimes all he has.

I have one of OJD's Sour Thai Nevil plants almost ready to flower right now. Stem rubs are pretty exotoc. I'll know in a month or two if it's a Grinspoon bud structure. I'm all about the clear-headed buzz!
Here's a bud shot of my Sour Thai Nevil seed plant about a week ago. It reminds me a lot of the "Freaky Thai Pheno" I got of CBG Destroyer a few years back. It has the same sweet lemon citrus aroma and same clear high in early testing. The early bud I sampled was super sticky to handle. Not quite Grinspoon but pretty close. This was at 88 days since flip. I'm planning on chopping her in the next few days, which will end up being 14 weeks or so.

Seems like a strange caveat to place on the sale of seeds ... 🤔

Even more so considering pure Haze seeds were never made commercially available to the best of my knowledge.

Maybe he was talking about the pure Haze BxC flowers being sold? Or the sale of pure Haze clones to another seedbank?

The pure OH BxC clone was definitively at the same place where the other clones from Nevil were (later) too.
There were already Nevils hybrid clones (a5 etc) were supposed to not be.......
Therefore seems logical the pure OH BxC clone should not have been sold in South Holland too.

If he wasnt honest enough not even to post his ohaze on phylos why bother to listen to bedtime stories ;)

If Sam had not been honest 15 years ago brother, when he did recommend the Seedsman OH as beeing seeds made by him, you would not be growing OH nowadays and still be trusting the disinformation on the all the original haze lines being to much inbred, hay, not pure and all that bullshit.

I am very thankful to Sam for having said the truth to us on the Original Haze.
