No Smell?, that doesn't sound right.

Still doesn't look done, but the photo's are a little out of focus, so cant be sure.

The photo of the trichomes looks like it is from a small leaf on the bud, no?. I prefer to look at the false seed bracts for an indication of ripeness.
Thanks. My nose is ancient like the rest of me. There are 4 plants in the garden and when your 50' away you can smell a variety of different smells. My friend's wife says they stink. I did the stem run.
It's a cell phone but it's supposed to be focus adjustable, need to research.
Here for comparison is one of the JH germinated the same day and grown in same conditions. 5hrs or less sunlight daily.

Well the Malawi is just bigger. seed bracts are as big as the one in the picture Hombre de Mont. The scope shows most Trichomes still clear with only a few cloudy. It has plenty of time to finish here. We are experiencing 90* temp daily. Not sure what it is in C*. It's hot. I'm going to try patience.

This season has been a learning experience. it's certainly different than the last time I grew in 2010. The number of strains, the emphasis on Sun Grown with soil mixes. with that said here is my ACE's Malawi Std. First flowers Aug 1, 202
Sorry about pictures poor quality. Seed bracts are still not as big as in Hombre De Mont picture.

A few amber trichs. One more week?
This is a relaxing pastime.

For some reason I can't see your pictures this morning.

I doubt your bracts will ever get as big as mine did due to the lack of direct sunshine.

Should still be a cracking smoke though! and as you rightly say, it's a learning experience.

I know that I'm learning more every year and it shows in my results.

Here is the Malawi at 63 days of flowering. The tricks are mostly cloudy with amber starting to show. I was thinking maybe Friday or Saturday for take down. Opinions?
this plant was grown with 2 Jack Herer from Seedsman and 1 Acapulco Gold from Barney's Farm. Those plants developed more or less according to the Breeders Description, maybe a few days later. The Malawi was supposed to go to November. What's up with that?

Although I used seeds from RSC my malawi gold first went 22 weeks. The THC was off the charts. The next batch I grew I harvested at 16 weeks and had great terpenes. Almost tastes like a bite of fresh pineapple.
I hope the high was trippy. My ACE Malawi std was harvested last week at 8wks, Trichomes we're cloudy with about 5% amber. Should be ready fora test smoke later this week. I think I'll try RSC for my next Malawi. There is so much to learn. Thanks for the input.

Most wait for all dark pistils and lots of amber. I take them down when they get a third dark pistils and some cloudy resin, with or without any amber. No problems with it and I like the high up and soaring.

dubi waits longer than I and cures his buds for months before smoking. Most do that. Curing for me is like a month or less. Have some RSC Malawi for next grow, heard lots of good things on the high. grayeyes for one has praised it.

Sorry I know I'm a week late lol, but sativas like this will reflower sometimes several times, look like they are done and the next day throw a new batch of flowers. Seems to coincide with the full moon or the next few days, not 100% sure about that though.

You can't really trust trichome color with plants like these either in my opinion, because of what I said earlier, trichome maturity will vary wildly between different parts of the plant or even parts of the same bud.

Edit - sorry I somehow missed the post where you said it was harvested at 8 weeks. I would have let her go for sure.

I’m here to learn. This grow was a chance to relearn old skills and learn the new techniques and find a long season Sativa. I haven’t tasted it yet but I’m not expecting much. I have a high tolerance and the hybrids just put me to sleep without the high. I’m taken aback with the hundreds of breeders and thousands of strains. what’s an old fart to do. Once again I appreciate the advice I have received on this site.

I have revenged plants before although it was indoors. My buddy said it changed overnight and he thought it was dead. I’ll have my own place soon and I will be able to observe them daily. Im striving to achieve the successful grows I have seen on this site.
