Definitely getting a strong pine with some sweet citrus in there. I asked my partner, who has a better nose, and they confirmed the pine smell!
good deal! looks like it'll be done mid Sept too just like the old Friesland I grew. Damn I may have to give kwik seeds another try. how do the other phenos compare to that one? all pink pistils?

79’mas bud just starting to flower at 45N.. better be really quick to finish lol
I hope they work out for u. Ya once started they go quick. mine were done around Oct 1st but like I said I wasn't real impressed with the finished product. Hopefully you will have better results than I. A good cross should do wonders for the strain though imo.

I’m thinking the ((Durban/PCK) x blueberry) x MOB x Goldmember(GG2 male) males will do the trick. So impressed by them last year I’m doing a big breeding outdoors with the males. The females of this line are 1/2 to 2/3 through flower atm. Mid September done done done @45N from seed. Also have a couple 79’ Xmas bud females being hit by goldmember x NL5/Haze, that one makes a lot of sense on paper….

So far 50% have pink pistils. The picture I shared is the most prominent. The other phenos are pretty much structurally the same but with white pistils and different terpenes expressed. All of them have some amount of pine in them, but can have a bit of a chemical/diesel smell. I think it is safe to say that you can find a great representation of the original clone in a pack or two.

keep us posted on the bud quality for sure. I would love to hope that I could find a good pheno out of a pack but am a little leary after the stuff that came out of the first pack I grew...it was about 3 yrs ago im wondering if his new seeds are and f2s. I've always heard that recessive traits can pop out on f2s....as I didn't have any pine smells or pink pistols at all on any of them.

I'm from MA as well and what's funny is I used to buy mids from my roommate almost a decade ago. It was decent smoke, definitely indica, and it had an overwhelming pine smell to it. I never came upon weed again that smelled so strongly of pinene. I even saved the seeds and labeled them "Xmas Tree Bud". I've been wanting to pop them, but I have limited space and so many other proven hype strains to grow. Maybe some time in the future I'll experiment with them for shits & giggles.
I'm also in MA. If you don't find the time I would be happy to grow a couple out sometime next year.

what strain is the male in the background?
Not sure what to call it yet, deserves the name memberberry but…. Genetic makeup above. The mother was a rare find, really exquisite and tested 24% outdoors if that matters. The hybrid with GG2 was astonishing, mid September done done, pinks, purples, greens and every combo. Wicked strong soured candy berry nose with a faint touch of afghani/kitchen spice in some from the gg2, most are straight berry side.

sweet Gorilla gold is a badass strain.. old school canadian genetics. that will be an interesting cross. next outdoor season im probably going with Patriot Medicine (has gg3 in it) and Mighty Freeze, Freezeland and DFG. I want to be harvesting by mid Sept on 45th parallel. Powdery mildew and mold are for the birds!

Also at 45th my guy. I tried both GG2 and GG3 at that same time and the hybrid I made between GG2 and GG3. I much preferred the GG3xGG2 over the 3 and probably the 2 over both. The GG3xGG2 was a bit later then the 2 but seemed like a wonderful hash plant, lots of vigor big medium airy buds and lots of little glands.

GG2 is among the top early early lines I bred with, I do love freeze but didn’t seem to breed well and most versions are sub par,

nice...i think it's called the gg5. gg2xgg3. pretty hard to find unless u make yourself. ya the freeze and friesland are hit and miss....mostly miss. I've been searching for 15 yrs to replace the old late 80s friesland i grew for years and nothing is coming close. too bad was my favorite strain of all time. keep us posted on your 79 Xmas. hope u get a tasty pheno.

A friend of mine found pine terpenes in pine tar gush f3 from verdant green. My half of the pack didn't make it like 99% of weed i planted this year

Pure Power Plant has a lot of pine terps, reminds me of the OG pine without the earthiness and less complex, nice if that’s what you want but a bit one dimensional. Was one of the better commercial smokes at the time but you’d probably have to hunt to find a winner in terms of potency, haven’t grown it but a lot used to come here from Canada so I’ve seen plenty of batches.
