How to make charas?

hi,
i have a new question for charas.
it will appeal less to the purist.
I would like to know if it was possible to know where to find a charas maker? or how to make one?
I would much rather do it by hand, and I'll try, but I have a hand disability, and I'm aware that I might not be able to do it, even though I'm very determine.
I read in several places that in India such machines were used. I never let my disability prevent me from getting what I want, for that I seek all possible alternatives

I make seeds and get a nice bit of charas rubbing the seeds out of the buds with my hands.. i don't like the job, it makes my hands hurt, but the finger hash is a nice bonus !

Bubble hash is not even in the same league as good true Nepali charas. I lived in Kathmandu for ten years and saw lots of charas.
I prefer charas too, a friend give me two different tola after a trip, was the best flavour, the scissors hash very good too. Bubble not the same, very potent but low flavour.

Good bonus 😉 more work for better results

Importated charas in uk, you're very lucky, in spain it's impossible, just marocan dry and Spanish modern hash, it's very potent for a low price, but don't have the soul, the effect or the flavour of asian hash's

They don’t make much charas in Nepal anymore the best at the trade could make about 30 grams a day, once they learned more about sifting and the yield from the crop improved they made more sift in the villages, at least that is how it was in the 90’s when I was there.

For sure they do. I think the "Bubble Bag" brand bags I used to have were actually even made in Nepal!

Anyway here is an interesting video shot in Malana. It shows some hand rubbing, at 4:20 no less:

Here's a sort of follow up video to that one. I dunno, I've always dreamed of trekking in the Himalayas, but I think Malana is hyped up and probably not a good place to visit. There are countless mountain villages throughout the Himalayas, so I guess one most search for what they seek. I grew one of these Himalayan strains a few summers ago and as enticing it was to try and rub some, I ended up just making bubble hash.

Interesting, the "age-old tradition" of hand rubbing was taught to them by some Italian guy called Galeno. :D

I think now in India go to be difficult find original charas, the Landrace are contaminated by modern pool, but i read in Nepal continue to make very good jungli, a tola of mid quality its 500nrp (~4€)😉

It's like zerozero in maroco, Malana it's not a true millenary charas making, i think more original in kumaoni or urtakhand, Kashmir(sorry if i write bad) and generally in Nepal

In the days before the hippies went to Nepal all they made was charas, now they make way more sift than charas at least in the 90’s, maybe charas is making a comeback. Most of my friends over there have left or died so I am out of the current loop…

If you use the right gloves and trim 10lbs of bud in a day with scissors then you will end up with a dozen gloves loaded with ounces of finger hash.

I remember him from strain hunters. They deported him not long after, although I don't think the two events are related.

What gloves do you suggest? If I have 2lb I'm happy 🙈

A spliff of Jamaican charas . . . that was my wake & bake every morning for a week on a trip to Negril many, many years ago. :rasta:

Edit: Although they called it gum.
I was given a 5 gr or so ball of charas in St Lucia a few years back,,,
Dreads didn’t like it and passed it over when I went to collect some herb,,,
Wasn’t there “ cup of tea” apparently,,,,,
