ANYTHING OUTDOOR 2022 EVERYWHERE

...como el Son...
Today, a daytime high of 40°C (104°F) is expected in the shade, and a nighttime low of 20°C (68°F). Ambient humidity between 15 and 30%.
I am at about (approx) 39°N, 800 meters above sea level, and 400 kilometers inland from the coast.
As every year, I will plant in this outdoor rectangle (7 x 2'little more meters, approx), which was the "outdoor outdoor area" of a small puppy kennel. I have dug and fertilized with equine and sheep manure, one rectangle (for two plants) and two other smaller squares (another two plants):

Wow that's awesome you're in a grower's paradise. I've had one day above 20 degrees C so far this year and torrential rain every couple days.

It's time for me to either get my plants in the ground or in 3-5 gallon containers out of their 1 gallons. Everything was rootbound, in some cases much more rootbound then I like. I overplanted even more then usual but I don't like to cull this early. Still had to remove a few slow growers or ones that were showing signs of dampening off. I'm finding a lot of plants with incredible smells.

Here's a look at a Purple Hindu Kush x M10 Afghani from Crickets and Cicada seeds. Very excited to see how this goes.

And a couple of Strawberry Glue (Shishkeberry x GG#4) from Space Genetix. Grew this out a couple years ago, very potent. So oily it's almost like smoking dabs.

Look, @therevverend , from the AEMet (the official Spanish meteorological agency: this village is about 200 meters lower in altitude than I am, in a valley)

We expect for a fresh breath in the temps next week...

And as a momentary farewell, I leave you with this "Great Giant Peacock" (one of the largest butterflies in the world) perched on a nearby rose bush (the wrinkled edge of its wings indicates that it is in its last moments of life, and has already reproduced):

My lanky plants getting some partial sunshine before the final planting sometime next week. Strain is Charlie Sheen OG (freebies from years ago) and two mystery Bodhi seeds, although I have a pretty good idea what they are. With tough economic times abound, I decided not to drop loot on new beans this year. The second plant from the left (out of 6 CSOG) has the shortest stature of the bunch and quite frankly, I've taken a shine to it, so it'll be getting the best spot in the garden.

To save ya'll from some Googling, Charlie Sheen OG seems to be Green Crack x Blue Dream x OG Kush. Apparently whoever made these, they decided to get drunk and do some pollen chucking lol.

Finally got an Apollo 11 F3 sticking its head up through the soil.

And one { Green Crack x Apollo 11 } X Hazeman Elephant Stomper.

Got Thursday and Friday to do wildfire prep stuff ... and then Gardening will become the main show because Wildfire Season officially starts.

Here are the auto babies a few hours before planting last week.... in an abandoned plot in our area, seemed easier than tending to them up on the mountainside. Suspense until the harvest.. and doing a rain dance.

I have some Goji OG F2s going I was gifted. They're F2s all right, couldn't be more different from each other. Keep in mind all 3 are about the same age but size and shape are completely different. The first picture shows two next to each other for comparison.

The last one is the odd ball, not sure what to think of it. The tall one has some variagation, we've had a cold wet spring I'm sure it's the cause. When it was younger it looked normal. They haven't sexed yet, despite the size differences I think any one could go either way. I only have room for one, maybe two at the most so I don't mind as long as they aren't all male.

Last one I'll post is a Living Dead girl x Pine Tar Kush. Very happy with how it's doing.

Hey everyone, l hope you’re all well.
I love waking up and logging in to see shots of plants while having a coffee. I can see the intensity of the light and it reminds me of summer, as we approach the winter solstice here. It hasn’t stopped me from popping a few (Blackdog x Golden Tiger) bx 2s to hunt for a male and assess the females, to see if l need to “go back wrong way” and find another male from the bx1s and remake the bx2s.
Aaaannnyyywayyy, pulling up a seat for this one Therevverand, great to see you posting again. I’ve grown the Gojis in the test patch but found them a bit lacking on the resistance side, against the leaf spot disease l get here. I did get one female that was completely resistant, leaned heavily towards the Snow Lotus and looked very much like the AOG Project from this year, which was also an outstanding plant (l posted my experience in Budsnblunts’ thread “ Growing in La Nina Conditions” if you haven’t seen it already)
The Goji Egg pheno, for me, was the favourite and I did make some f2s that I’ve done nothing with, yet.
Here’s an extract of the description off Seedfinder, “f2'ing this line opens up a really cool genetic treasure chest, with pure purple stemmed snow lotus phenos, strawberry wands, and nepali og dom girls....” sounds very cool to me.
I’ll be looking forward to your updates and as always I’m wishing everyone the very best of luck and favourable weather, for the season.
Cheers,
40.

My Goji OG F2s are showing progress. I think I've figured out the sex, looks like two females and one male. This isn't 100%, I have one for sure female, one likely female and one probably male. The for sure female is in the ground now, immediately stuck her in when I saw that white hair. She's the short squat Indica looking one. She's not so short anymore, at least tripled in size since I stuck her in the ground 3 days ago. Ganja in spring is amazing.

Hard to believe it's the same plant. She's caught up to her big sister I compared her to a couple weeks back in my last post. And yes, that one is the likely other female which makes me happy. Don't have a spot for her yet and I need to double and triple confirm but I'm almost certain she's a she. The oddball is the probable male, he's showing ballsy tassely type stuff you see in male pre-flowers. He doesn't have a for-sure ball but he'll be heading to the boy's club soon.

He's turned much more sativa-dominate with thin leaves. F2s are always fun, hard to believe they're siblings. Here's a gander.

You can see when he reached his 3rd set of true leaves he went on a growth spurt and the leaves got much thinner. The clawing and folding is interesting, likely not a deficiency. Probably a reaction to all the cold rain along with the fast growth. He has a strong Goji smell, hard to describe but it smells potent. I'll be tempted to use him as a breeder, I don't know about making F3s with him. Classic bad closet pollen chucking breeding, get 3 F2s so you cross them together regardless just because it's what you have. I have a feeling I'll have better males but we'll see.

Here's my Huckleberry Punch by Dynasty seeds, as you might guess it's Oregon Huckleberry x Purple Punch. Another chapter in my never ending quest to find a better purple strain then what I've already got. Don't know why I keep trying but there's stuff I like about this one. This is no longer my favorite one however, it's showing some male tendencies but if it's female it'll favor it a lot. Going through a growth spurt, it's up over my waist. The long days make for fast growth. The one I'm favoring is still in a container, has a more female-like growth pattern and a nice smell.

Last one I'll post is a Durango OG x Pot of gold hashplant. I think I saw a hair on it today, thinking it's female. The reason I'm saying 'I think' or 'possibly' is because I'm looking at impossibly small pre-flowers. What looks like a hair today could be the tip of a new leaf. It doesn't matter how small it is, if you see one, and hopefully two, tiny hairs it's a female. Males are much more difficult and take longer to sex. They usually don't start throwing actual balls until they're ready to go into full flower in August. Until then you're going by preflower shape and growth pattern which is a tricky business. Takes quite a few years to figure it out and even so every now and then one will surprise you. End up throwing a hair at the end of July just to be frustrating.

I'm really liking this plant, this cross. The Durango OG female was insanely frosty, one of my frostiest ever. The Pot of gold hashplant is awesome, bred on by a northern California grower for around 20 years. No idea if it's the same as Flying Dutchman's pot of gold but after years of selection it's likely it's own thing by now. Big frosty hashplant, great producer for hashmaking.

For in "my here", the deepest part of Deep Hispanistan (approx. 39°North; Iberian hinterland), it has been raining Sun melted like molten lead from the sky since the middle of May... Since then, we have not dropped below daytime highs in the shade of 36°C (97°F), and exceeded 40°C in the shade (104°F) on several days.
For the next 7 days, A.E.Met predicts, for the valleys in my area, up to 44°C (111.5°F) daytime highs in the shade and nights not to drop below 25°C (77°F)... And I don't want to leave a thermometer in full sun next to the plants, so as not to scare them with the measurements... I'm going to have to switch from plants and dogs to breeding dragons...

Hey everyone, l hope you’re all well.
That thin leaved pheno might lean towards the Nepali Therevverand, might be a good yielder??.
Here’s an interesting thing, l’ve popped some (Blackdog x Golden Tiger) bx2’s and look what’s arrived, I’ve had some mutations surface in other seed starts but never seen anything close to this; it looks kind of like a funny little creature. I’ll be keeping an eye on this one but don’t think I’ll be doing any breeding with it.
Cheers,
40.
