Don't get me wrong. They look great, are fun to grow and I would rather people grow autos than have no access to weed but you can list any company. I've tried most. Including multiple varieties from companies already listed in this thread. I CAN DISTINGUISH between good autos and good photos (you do get shit photos, hence why people spend inordinate amounts of time searching through photos, which is less easy with autos) and I am no sommelier or distinguished connoisseur. If a friend offers me an auto to smoke versus one of my photos, it's a polite no thank you from me.

For one thing you can have a continuous harvest in one tent no need to bother with veg just add and remove plants also they don't need as much light they will still get the DLI because of the longer hours

you buy pack after pack after pack and yeah you’ll find some fire but whats the use its gone forever.

i’m not hating on them it just feels like becoming dependent on seedbanks and the inability to clone or keep mothers plus not knowing what you’re gonna end up with (contrary to growing from clones) makes them extremely less desirable to me

For those of you looking to learn, I run 7 grams of maxibloom per gallon, throw in a cap full of superthrive per 4 gallon, 10ml of humic acid per gallon and 2 ml of silica blast per gallon, 1/2 tea spoon of great white per 4 gal, ph to taste. If you carefully monitor your ph and fert ppm concentration, you can climb to 5000 ppm co2 and beyond if you are on top of it. The closer to 10000 ppm c02 you get, you better have a c02 exhaust system outside you building. This formula works with most anything with subtle cal/mag adjusuccess. Only take your readings and make adjustments after lights out and the envirment has been evacuated of co2 unless your reservoir is external.

Seeing people do auto's indoor, makes me sad. It's like tying your hands behind your back. You give up control, to grow something with inferior genetics. It's loose/loose. Non will make it into the hall of fame. It's a new one every year, with another empty bag of promise.

I got sucked in. Started a little pollen chucking program. Made a few thousand beans, and took a nice sk#1 a few generations along, till it was semi auto while keeping it's sk#1 characteristics, best I could. Even outdoors they served no purpose. Getting two weeks ahead, but flowing too small to amount to anything. I shelved the lot. Shelved.. not put on ice. Left to dry up like the sands of time.
I actually have some big name one's in the fridge, having kept up with developments. It's the perfect time to get them out, and plant them in the bin.

I think there's definitely a place for them. I think they'd appeal to the older medical community, someone such as my mum, someone without the relevant knowledge to grow a great photo plant, but they can pop one outside whenever and still get something to help them out of it.

I grew a great blueberry x gg4 auto outside in a 30l pot, organic soil, paid very little attention to it and harvested a good 2oz's of nice tasting bud that got you high, I couldn't tell you the THC percentage number cause that doesn't really matter. Given it wasn't up to the indoors in terms of high and longevity, but most of my mates who don't grow could care less, it was nice smelling and tasting bud to them.

There seems to be a lot of resistance to change and movement in the cannabis community, first it was that fem'd seeds were shit, then it's that autos are shit, now LED's aren't as good, blah blah blah. We all have the capacity to learn and improve, it's what's gotten us those amazing genetics like the Hazes, OG's, c99, Northern Lights, GG4, Cookies, etc... So maybe instead of shitting on something we could take that energy and time and improve our own methods, or even learn something new and master it so that if it is truly inferior, we're coming to that conclusion from a place of knowledge and experience. Growing anything is about what the plant wants and as time goes on, so does our understanding of this and our understanding of the best ways to provide this.

I remember this same conversation about feminized seeds and hydroponics vs organics before that and even longer back using chemical fertilizers (chem weed) at all was considered a deadly sin.

Auto's have been around a while now. After growing for a long time, I really think long flowering plants are much better quality. The few times I have grown plants straight into the flower cycle it has worked, but quality was not there compared to the clones or longer veg times.

I'm sure there are some half decent auto's, but they are the opposite of what I seek in cannabis.

Commercially,modern autos is a no brainer (for those eager to open their eyes).Yes,they can be even more productive from seed in 3 months than a 1 month vegged, 2 month flowered clone.Talking indoors.Outdoors having a crop done before the time cops are searching for it is invaluable.

For cannabinoid production in given time they are definitely more efficient (this is very useful for people who need to make distillates)

Regarding effects,if you find which are the good ones they are as much as a hit and miss as photos.I myself like very strong stuff and have very high tolerance, grow mostly NLD s ,but I adore growing photos for the fun and for the different effects they can offer(plus some cbd added from them to your system might be beneficial ).They can also fill holes in both the veg and the flower tent .

It all boils down to "to each their own" and "don't bash it til you've tried it...correctly".
