Might be an illusion, but it looks like the wettest is the biggest, and the driest is the a smallest. Were the others that dry? I think it needs some fluid pressure.

Weigh them.

Yo sub. Looking magnificent! getting the juices flowing my friend..

Yo fe. Interesting. Fluid pressure forces water into the plant? There's no added nutrients yet. I will weigh them for interest sake.

They all for the most part got 30ml everyday (2tbs) unless some cups didn't dry as even and only got 1tbs.. except for the first time yesterday I just poured some water evenly among them, because now that they are at this stage I don't have to be as careful.. except for the dry one you see, that's the one with the helmet on.. didn't water it.. it is somewhat of an illusion because its only the surface you see drying out, underneath is moist..

Any suggestions from anyone, regarding how to handle the Sativas? I may flower clones so that they are better behaved., but I need to build enough roots without gaining much height, in the veg stage..

After seeing star crash's grow of 7 ft plants, I flowered a Nevs x c5 Mango at its third set of leaves at 11/13. It looks like it will finish at about 3.5 ft high. As an organic grower I also restrict the roots initially and repot as they get larger. I also started another one straight into flower, again 11/13 and that looks like it will finish about a little over 2 ft high. Bear in mind these are organic and pot size restricted, so hydro is going to be larger. I also do a bit of supercropping to help them branch and keep height a bit lower. You end up with lots of S bends. Some severe bondage may help, or even topping the plant depending on your space.

Your clone idea is great. I was playing catch up so not an option for me.

Good luck with these. Watching with interest.:ying:

I wanna shake off the dust of this one-horse town. I wanna explore the world. I wanna watch TV in a different time zone. I wanna visit strange, exotic malls. I'm sick of eating hoagies. I want a grinder, a sub, a foot-long hero. I want to LIVE, Marge. Won't you let me live? Won't you, please?

Yes and no, there's a sweet spot in each type of substrate. The measurement is pF (potential of field)- understandably we're in containers so the concept morphs a little bit. It's a relation of percentage moisture + air space + substrate relative to the pressure those things combined exert on the medium. Ex: Lots of moisture + fine particles = very heavy/lots of pressure = less uptake; on the other end of the spectrum, less moisture + lots of oxygen = very light/no pressure = less-to-no uptake (wilting point).

Contra D wants to live!

be brave and remove the helmet! - here is the short description of how to do it ....
Very carefully ! :D
(i usually wet it first and then slide it off whilst prizing it apart with my fingernails - and if the little membrane stays on (stopping the seed leaves from spreading apart) this slides off quite easily when wet.

Hi mate, if you still running your lights 10/14 that should help..
I ran some original haze on a scrog and helped it start flowering by using :
Root restriction - plants tend to flower more quickly if the roots are constricted (old tomato growers' trick - don't pot then on until the first flowers appear)
Low N -
i vegged on 12/12 and flowered on 10/14

also i think your idea about growing from clone is a good one.. clones usually have slightly less vigor and lower apical dominance so branch out a bit better.

I once had a shell I couldn't shift with tools. I wet it with the intention of softening it up a bit, and it just fell off. The cotyledons kinda flicked it away. As if springing open. After my great struggle with it, leading to alternative methods, I was left slack jawed.
