Purple Haze x Malawi

She's almost ready to jar up. Still in the 70s for humidity, so another couple days at most...I was surprised at how much weight she gained in the last month. This was a very high yield for me, looks like close to 2 zips off one small but bushy plant. Flowers are dense and very resinous. I was feeding lots of organic inputs all along and the terps are amazing. She smells like honey, sour hay and slightly floral with notes of artist paints and terpentine. Soaring clear high that leaves me a little detached. Tastes sweet and fresh. Fabulous smoke!

Haha, thanks Dubi, yeah trimming is so easy with plants like this. Right now I am totally spoiled with this lovely smoke, plus jars of Honduras x Panama and also Zamaldelica. An embarrassment of riches to be sure. And with Mauritius x Ethiopia coming in a few weeks plus Punto Rojo I will be enjoying even more fabulous options this summer. All thanks to Ace and friends.

Hey dubi , I got some questions.

I'm goin to grow PHxM and Panama Haze this summer, indoors.
What's the average finishing size of these plants when vegged for 15 days as you recommend?

Going to go with 11/13 for flowering, in a 1.2x1.2x2m tall tent with 600w of HPS.

Is it mandatory to top and train in this space?
I'd like to grow as many seeds as possible but I know with these monsters I might have to limit the number of plants.

Edit: Ideally I would like to run 5-9 plants under the 600 and 2 under the 250. I want to believe it's doable
Anyone else with experience please feel free to chime in as well.

My PH is 5 feet tall, has massive stems, and it was topped once. My PH x Malawi got about a meter tall and was very bushy, but that doesn't seem as typical from what I have read. I think you can train many of these plants to do whatever you want, but it comes down to the grower. Keeping them in smaller pots until stretch is over really helps too.

Sounds like a plan then, yes I have read many times on this forum, so I will be keeping them in 5lt pots until then.
After they go in 11lt to finish flowering. Worst case scenario: if some do not fit in the tent I'll keep a clone to flower another time.
Will be a nice adventure! First true hazes for me I hope.

So you're going to transplant 'after' the stretch? I thought that disturbing 'her' after bloom was a no, no. Have you done this before? Successfully?

Yes, with my Purple Haze x Malawi. I up potted around week 9 or so because the leaves were getting a little pale and transplanting didn't seem to faze her. She went at least 16 weeks. I have also read that people pot them in a large pot but only half full of soil, and then lift them mid flower and add more soil. I don't know, but experimentation seems like the way to go.

Maybe 1-2 days a little slower growth, almost non noticeable.

Another option would be to veg them just enough to get a clone or two, root them, and then flower the clone.
But this will set me back about a month at least if not more. I'm still practicing cloning and currently suck at it.

Hit nail on head, MrR... I use this stuff cut to about an inch and a quarter, all ready slit, wraps around a cut nicely and goes into a 1" hole snugly and firmly.

Sativas strains like Purple Haze x Malawi have a very active root system even in flowering, so they respond very well to transplant.

Indicas have a slower root system and won't expand so much like sativas once the flowering starts so better transplant them before they start to flower.
