Things are coming along well outdoors up here. The Afghan 90s are in full flower, didn't get too tall, but should be an ok pull from them.

The Sativa plant is starting to flower as well. Got hit pretty bad by the hot weather lately and nearly blew over in the recent winds, but I've re staked her and she seems to be happy enough.

The Iranian Indica is looking a but funny, only really throwing up tight leaf clusters with a few hairs poking through. She's pretty healthy though.

Thanks Rod. I'm quite excited to see what happens with her too. Have a clone of her in my second tent atm so should be able to get a feel for what she's like inside. Have 8 seeds from the pack left to explore as well. One of the coolest things to note was that I didn't top that plant at all, all the side shoots seemed to grow up to an even canopy with the top center shoot. She was also the one that shot off an extra 'finger' on one of her larger fan leaves

Had another trip out to the plot today and sadly I think the yellowing off was due to insects. :( The big Sativa plant has what looks like little brown stink bugs or 'squash bugs' as I know them in the states. Plus a lot of passion vine hoppers and those bigger green 'shield' bugs. Will probably get some organic pyretherins and possibly some neem to spray her down. Not what I wanted to do at all, so any other options are very welcome. Gotta be a bit more onto it outdoors, seems the tents, timers, and blumats have made me a little slack haha.

Boil up a few chillis and some garlic. Spray it on at a diluted mix and the plants will become pretty unpalatable...

Yeah, Brother N. In the wild, success, like democracy, depends on eternal vigilance. At least you haven't got termites. Oh yeah, and the MOULD will be coming soon ...

Something ... (No BB Code ... ?)

So this is what happened when I applied high K kelp and Molasses.

some improvement satty??

Def an improvement! I looked for brown trichomes and there are still none. Even tho the crop of anthers pictured above has turned brown. SO ... it may be that a dose of kelp and some Molasses will further stimulate the plant. It's been a week now. Gave it a whiff of K last night. I 'll water it this morn and give it some Molasses too ... and see what happens. I 'm a bit anxious to give it the chop having 'got away with it' to this stage.
And hey ... our new look site ... I reckon Kylie Minogue must have helped with the design. Or the site has been designed and renewed in time for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Id leave her along now for 2 weeks and see how she looks then ,
fair chance she will be ready i think satty ,
don't even bother watering her after this morning ...

its unlikely you will be busted over 1 plant , too much in resources to justify that ,
i think u can relax for the next 2 weeks and then harvest the lovely lady ....

Well, before I read this I gave a whiff of K and some more M. The plant has responded but nothing like last time. So I will do as you suggest. Many of the fan leaves are dying now ... mostly in the last two days.

So what's this idea the plant is ready when 75% of the trichomes are brown? Like I said I can't see a single brown trichome.

No more text box when giving Rep. Hmmm.

you mean trichome or pistil satty ??

you would need a loupe to check the trichomes properly,
i dont really go by that ,, after eons of growing i just get a good feel by the look of the flower when the end of flowering has come ,
gernally most of the pistils have died , browned off by that point,
its a 2 week window , i prefer to take it towards the end of that 2 weeks ,
you may be at the beginning of that now but hard to tell without a larger picture to view ,
not sure how to add them yet full size , but ill give it a go soon and let u know what i find ..

Cheers BnB, always forget about the chili and garlic method. Have a ghost chili growing too so will give that a shot. Have sprayed her down with horticultural oil and sprinkled a ton of neem granules around the base, seems to have reduced their numbers greatly, but there's still a few of the little fuckers around. I'll be surprised if this plant actually makes it to the end of the season, but live and learn, I guess. A funny side note is this is actually an invasive pest brought over from Australia, the brown marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys) and has no known native predators here. Bloody Aussies...:moon::gday:
