Just half way through the "scheduled" flower of these Pineapple clones... I
added a fan due to 100F plus temps lately and I think i am going to keep it in
there because the air movement keeps my reservoir temps down :joint:.

6 cuttings... can you guess which rooted in one week?! High temps may have
led to these plants' demise.

Purple Haze now about 24 hours and the cotyledons have yet to open up. I
fear that the top cotyledon may actually be dead but it could just be the un-
derside of the leaf. On the right, dried and in the jar this batch currently only
weighs in at 17 Grams :.

17 grammes off that isn't too shabby in my books  The pineapple looks like it will give you a better yield - does it smell pineappley? The fan sounds like a good idea to stop those high temps, 100f is too hot.

Fingers crossed for that purple haze mate :joint:

Actually as far as smell goes its still kind of weak, a blast in the face when you
first enter the room is more noticeable then the smell of the buds. I am consider-
ing fulvic acid, do you have any feed back to offer on this product?

Also, I was right one cotyledon is not doin well but i can see my first set of
leaves coming in, should i remove the cotyledon that is in the way (smothering
the new leaves from coming in) or just let the new growth try and push its way
through?

I'd just 'leaf' it alone for the moment and see how she gets on. Fulvic acids get the  from me, they help with nutrient take up etc.

Hey picked up some hydroplex today at the hydro store, the clerk, who also
interviewed me for a job said he uses Botonicare and instead of simply
handing me the fulvic acid requested, he told me he uses liquid karma and
swears by this combination throughout flowering:

Pure Blend Pro Bloom

Liquid Karma

Hydroplex

Any feed back on hydroplex? I haven't been able to find too much info but i am
planning on giving it a whirl, that is i don't plan on wasting my money after
already paying for, just wondering what kind of results i can expect :D.

Maybe a passer by will stop and chime in about the hydroplex but the Liquid Karma is some of the best stuff - I know lots of people that use it

hows it going? well not well at all! everything is chopped after some intense root
rot which all started when one of my water bottles used for resevoir cooling
burst while i was away for a weekend. Out of right field my beautiful vegetating
church plant is infested with spider mites which sucks even more...

however

i'm not one to give up and i really want to give soil a go... so the plan? well with
the intention of making things easier for myself i went took it one step further
and decided to build an aero cloner which i will post pics of soon...

take 18 cuttings with intentions of flowering 16 at about 8" into veg under a
600w HPS, and two others in 2L pepsi bottles (soil) under a screen and my 150w

once rooted in the aero cloner i plan to transplant plants to rockwool then soil.

i feel like with soil the hard part about going away is finding someone
trustworthy, when it came to hydro... there is so much more for the caretaker
to be worrying about; its a disaster waiting to happen.

Will post soon on the aero cloner pics.

Screw the aero cloner pics, I will have to give it another go only 6/18 rooted
after 16 days and they are still goin but I think taking cuttings from my flowering
plants def was a set back.

These plants are about 4 weeks old and were infested, and I mean coated, with
spidermites. I thought all hope was lost but i hosed them off and now have
a fan on them and they look great... these are either mothers or the next to go
into flower.

Jim, looks like you've got a sweet setup running here. Only 6/18 plants made it through the new cloner? Bummer. Have you had success with cuttings from a flowering plant before? Good to see that the pest situation is under control.

Will you be going organic with your soil setup? Seems like a decent way to improve the quality of the finished product while keeping the setup&maintenance simple and easy to manage.

Hey Jim - good to see you're still growing and on to the next round mate  Are they in soil? or still hydro?

Kickin'ItEasy- Botonicares PureBlendPro are about as organic as its gonna get
for me! Every other feeding I plan to run these nutes then swtich off with
SuperNatural.

I normally wouldn't use SuperNatural nutes... i have been experimenting.
Both of these seem to come with a price tag attached and cheap is the
name of the game. I am starting to get the feel that i should go back to
General Hydroponics 3 part natural nutes and save my cash.

This was my first aero clone and i used pure tap, temps kept 72-78F,
conditions that worked wonders for other members so i know i am doing
something wrong

Samm- Hydro!!!! still... i wanted to do 6 2-L Pepsi bottles in soil under the
150,to do this i need 6 clones but i am loving the health of the large
church plant and am way overdue for a tasty harvest so i may just veg the
smaller plant into a mother and take cuttings for next round with soil.

Caretaking another small grow in the area...

Week5

Plants were Flowered at about 10-12" height and had a 24 hour dark period...

1 Week Flower:

2 Weeks Flower:

3 Weeks Flower:

I am currently running a cycle of some 1600ppm of Supernat nutes for one
watering, then i will wait 2 days and give the plants just plain water and
hydroplex, for the 3rd waterin in the week i feed 1200ppm PureblendPro
Bloom and Liquid Karma.

Today was also the first day of C02 I am hoping this and RH will get rid of
some the the scattered spidermites...

Makes sense that a hydro guy would opt for some decent liquid fertilizers. I can't comment on PBP or SuperNatural as I've never used either. If they aren't prohibitively pricey and you're feeling adventurous, I'd say try them out- you might like 'em. On the other hand, you've already got experience with the general line and they won't be breaking the bank...

The grow you're caretaking looks nice. Is it your first time working with soil?

Straight tapwater into the cloner? Did you evaporate the chlorine beforehand?

I may have missed this tidbit by jumping into the thread late, but I'm wondering: how do you generate/regulate your CO2?

This is my first soil, yes. As for the c02 it is autmatically administered from a
tank through a Brain which controls the temp and c02 (and RH where applicable)

Despite the fact the aerocloner doesnt require it i still ran the water through the
reverse osmosis filter, and yes let it sit. I kept the pumps on 24 hours a day
but i never did a res swap so between that and the possiblity that temps were
a bit cooler than ambient. The root count is up to 11, however I want what i
expected 100%

First Soil: 5 and a half weeks

First Soil: 5 and a half weeks

Ok so it seems that my boy is moving and I am caretaking this crop indefinitely!
That makes this not the vertical NGB at all!!!!
Church Day 39...

Yep these babies are due in just a few weeks and despite my lack of coverage
are the fruits of my labor since Veg day 01. Just slipped them some Gravity
(bud hardener) which is to be administered 3 weeks before flush.

Here are some bud shots, please ignore the mites... I have them under control,
they have been with me since about week 2.

My $0.02- Spidermites = MORE FANS
If you have a spidermite issue PLEASE do NOT slay your crop, or spray neem
on your flowering plants. I have heard good but not used AVID but the
addition of fans and the pruning of fan leaves will keep any spidermiteproblem
at bay, and I swear by this. Create air movement and they cannot spin webs
and repopulate (but they dont die either)

I am in awe how you can inherit someone's grow.

Spidermites are a bitch. Once you are infested, it is no longer about cleanliness, but about control.

I have been following this thread since the beginning. Lookin good!

Jack - bad wording, whilst this grow is expense free for me... all my labor lands me 50% of the harvest.:joint:

My boy lives down south and his father is having issues with cancer and that's
where the rest is going so its possible i wont even be taking all of my cut.

But yes, each night i open it up i am in awe myself at how beautifully they are
coming along, however i get the feeling for 600w, i can be doing a lot better.

Looks like you're doing a good job taking care of them Jim. The experience alone is priceless, regardless of what you receive when it comes to harvest. Keep it up man.

Yes, true words of wisdom sammet. On top of that exp i have a new vegetable
garden too, I love hydro but this experience has taught me to stick with soil
in the summer under an HPS, then i have all winter fall and even spring to run a
few hydro grows, perhaps an outdoor plant in the near future!?! :D

Week 7 er 44 days...

Canopy and sideshot, there is a plant missing because it was harvested due
to rapid browning that began on the tips of the fan leaves and spread to the
tip of the pistils on the top of the plant...

I got lazy with the editing but here are a couple shots one with flash to show
the trichs... each plant has a nice main cola except the ones i topped which
I am not as happy with, perhaps bad timing...
