Hey... CBF...

Hey... CBF...

They look good, I thought they were further along... CC that's a good one-!!... Took me awhile to find where your expirment was going on... :chin: ... I thought it would be here... good luck with your project... I knew something was up with G.E... and did not care... but judged the plants on their own merit... The cure helped with the smell alot also... stay safe and peace.

hey okie grown, very nice budz bro. glad to hear they at least have some SB componant in DPs work. great grow:D

F1, glad ya stopped by, sorry for not gettin back to ya sooner. and yeah im glad to hear that SC plant is gettin better and has a nice SB smell in the jar. makes me optimistic that ill find a few SB plants in the seed ya did. to me it was a bonus to find a male in the femmed beans. with 75 beans to go through i should find a killer SC plant.

I sent a pack of the SF1s to two growers here, kinda help goin through um all. so in the commin weeks should see 40 plants from this sibX. be makin more beans this run(SF2) and been talkin with ship on this. really no data around to follow as noones really went that far in selfin of seed.

from notes i dont beleive a self is equal to a cube as from waht ive grown there is quite a bit of variation. as i have said before i beleive that the self reveals more of the recessive genes in the strain. im thinkin once a plant is selfed there is quite a bit more work required to find the clone or even stabilize the selfed plants.

at least im in the SBC genepool without havin to outcross and work back.

another note to those interested in the strawberry cough..........to the best of my knowledge SBC is not all SB flavored and smellin. the SBC clone is a exceptional plant from the SBC strain from vermont.

so keep in mind that not all your SBC is gonna smell and taste like SBs. the haze used in the cross is there in many ways, leaf structure, high and taste. SBC is a indica dominant strain, the mother was a indica, the the SBC clone is indica dom in growth.

little update.........

little update.........

...................plants are showin sex at this point, have upcanneed 5 females so far. and lookin over the plants its pretty much gonna be a 50/50 m/f ratio.

a few interestin developments have occured to the plants as they have become sexually mature. the first unusual growth i seen was extra branchin at the point were the plants were topped.

you can see the healed top, two normal branches and the new extra branchin gettin started. does a FIM cause branchin that low from the toppin? I dont think so, as i have two plants that I fimmed, and it grows from the top, not the side. not all the plants display this growth.

the other weird growth is whorled branchin. not the whole plant, just one branch, and some plants only the upper half of the branch, like about the time the plants matured and started to show sex.

you can see in the pics, that the plant didnt produce the triple branchin untill further up the branch, and theres only one branch on the plant that is whorled. have numerous plants in the population showin this.

kinda strange, havent seen this before. wonderin if this is what inbred depression is about. interesting either way. have read that most whorled plants are male. so these plants maybe female with a male branch? im seein hairs on some of the whorled plants.

from what im seein i dont think ill be goin much further with this project besides finishin these plants. really dont see a point in makin seed. maybe find a short term keeper out of these.

so heres a few pics of them upcanned and pistolwhipt, and trained over.

and a pic of the bunch waitin to get sorted out.

so ill keep pics commin as they flower. guess ill have to find someone with the original SBC clone:D

The SBC...

The SBC...

From the Sativa sided plant was pretty good when I smoked it last night & a few tokes this morning... if your getting males and females... I will make some f2 seeds, and see if they all come out alright... I have 50 left... then if it works... I'll have my own version of SBC... I also out-crossed to a TexasMystic f1 male (Strawberry Mist)... and regardless of parentage or the way it came about... it's still a dandy smoke... peace.

hey F1, thanks for stoppin by, dont care much for this batch of plants so far, really dont like the mutated growth. not every plant is boogered, but really dont wanna be breedin whorled plants.

just a little note this am........

was out goin through the plants last night upcannin, and a female I upcanned and took a clone off has 4 shoots instead of three where the plant is whorled, and like the others its just one branch on the plant. craziest shit I ever seen. i took the clone from the whorled branch. just to see what it does.

at first i figured im done with these plants, just flower and move on. more time i spend with um, and seein all the strange growth, has peaked my interest and now have to grow um out make seed and see what comes of um. most likely a waste of time, but a learnin exp.

wonderin if any type of stress could cause a plant to whorl, im thinkin its in its genes.

hey BT, thanks for checkin in, the more the merrier:D

so I have 9 females upcanned, 8 for sure males and 3 unknowns. there is only one female that is not whorled. had wanted to flip a few days ago, but still waitin for um to finish sexin. will flip in the am tomorrow either way.

also wonderin if the early toppin may have had somethin to do with the whorled plants? i topped most at the second node, then again at the first node that resulted from the first toppin. very aggressive due to my ceilin limits in the new OP.

So...

So...

Your not seeing any intersexual (hermie) plants at this time... thats a good thing... it's insteresting that so many are whorled... The indica pheno mother had a good sweet taste and I enjoyed it... and the more Sativa haze pheno while not as tasty has a nice uplifting stone to it also... I would grow it again... but look for the more indica looking pheno's... so if your seeing equal numbers of males and females that don't show hermie... I'd just treat it as regular seeds, and make me some SBC seeds... but I dunno about the whorled thing... I'll grow out a few and see my self... good reporting on them... peace.
