Hey Randy what up dude?

You can have a room like this, just keep spending your extra cash on equipment at the growstore and home depot like we did. Sleep in a tent if you haveto. Its worth it!!Then have your friends come in and set it up and then buy the best plants that you can. Peace

Lone Wolf , thanks really appreciate the comment. The manifold/duct system is Grownerds creation. A definate work of art. Im not even sure how it works yet because so much is happening at once what with the harvest and all next door.

Also grownerd is going to integrate the two rooms ducting together so that should be fun to watch and it is also nice to see it torn down and done right. You see this started as a ghetto grow back in the day and it is now being rebuilt into a 'the correct way to do things grow". Costs a lot of money to do things correct.

Beautiful show.

A few questions if you don't mind.

If you were starting from scratch do you prefer the trays or the Ebb&Gro buckets on planks? On plant count...did you pick this number to stay legal/under fed limits? If that were not the concern do you consider these numbers optimal or would you increase the counts (and if so what do you consider optimal)?

Can you give an idea of your ambient/outdoor conditions (temp and humidity)? I am curious because I wonder if 18000 btu is sufficient given really hot outdoor temps. Really good idea on the ducting. I am curious if the air dumps in a single spot in the room or if ducting the length of the room with different size registers would provide more even cooling?

Good luck with the grow.

Edit...also curious as to the choice of adding perlite to the coco. What do you find the advantage to be.

doing things right will also make you alot of money as well, thus eliminating the worry of any overhead costs !

Hi Yosemite, thanks

I prefer the trays but a drain to waste system in a tray built by grownerd would be the best option for me. Ive seen it in action at some friends house that he built and it is really efficient. Anything built by him makes for great bud porn..

So trays with drippers is the answer although Im kinda torn between that option and the new DTW bucket system that was just built. Either or I guess.....

Outdoor temps is 85 degrees a month 8 months a year, the rest is anywhere from 65-75. I sure do hope the 18000 btu is enough but it is new and we shall see in a week or so. The air dumps in one spot off a window box. It is being reconstructed by grownerd.

Perlite to Coco? Well I just bought the botanicare and it is premixed, I also added bat guano to each bucket.Perlite for me provides more aeration to the plant. Grownerd swears by plain coco.

I also prefer DTW on trays... for the most part. So why planks? In this particular case, we had to work with existing resources at the time the decision was made, as well as working around some logistics issues.

In short, adapting & overcoming.

The other side has been harvested and the room almost completely torn down, including removing carpet & padding, re-do of ventilation & plumbing, and bleaching all surfaces. The tables have been lowered 1 cinder block, allowing better distance from the lights to the plants. Lowering it even more would have made things more complicated (in particular, the gravity drain back into the high reservoirs).

Thanks for the compliments, Securityfirst.

Lone Wolf, you got that right. And it pays you back over, and over ...

The initial sticker shock does suck, though.

Thanks for the replies guys. Any opinion on plant densities? How many will you be putting on the tables once you reload that part of the room?

I really do agree with the idea of doing it right the first time. Hell, it pays back on the first grow for the most part so there really isn't any reason to anything else when you also factor in the difference in profit for every single crop grown from that point on.

Looking forward to seeing the new area and what I am sure will be a fantastic grow.

Q

Quality control

Hey man, grows looking great.
i hope you dont mind if i throw a few Q's your way....
Ive been on grass city for my previous grow for reasons of getting advice from good growers....and had nothing but closet growers trying to answer my questions.

Ill let you know ive been growing for 9 years now and moved to indoor 4 years ago dew to a large outdoor crop being ripped, so ive done i think 12 indoor or so crops, had my ups and downs bug infestations, you name it.
all grows have been soil using bag seed/ seeds from good tinnies.

Ok the reason im writing this is i am switching to flood and drain, nearly finished my tables, and upgraded lighting another 3x 600w hps, so now have 6.
Ive got 4 of them over the 2 tables, and will be doing it scrog style.
and 2 other scrogs just with soil with the other 2 lights.

Problems/Q's are....

Should i run both the tables on 1 system or run them seperatly? are yours hooked on 1 sytem? i have 2x 100ltr res for them so can do either, and a big submersable pump., and i can get another pump if its better to do them seperate.

Also water....we have some of the best/ the best tap water in the world here, do you think i need filters before adding it to my system, everybody on the net seems to....why? is water that bad overseas?

Also ferts, heres a link to my grow store, i have been using 2 part monstor bud only for all my soil grows, can you check here to see if you think i need any additives and if you think one fert may be better than the other.

http://sog.co.nz/

And ive never had to measure ph and ppm before, ill get the hang of it quick id say but is there any tips you would tell a first timer with this stuff?

and just wondering about ph up and down, say ive got ph of 7, how much ph up would i add to 200ltrs to get it to 5.5?

And your method for say a res change, dump, clean, fill, then ferts to the right level pf ppm then ph? when adjusting ph does it affect the ppm?

If your board you can have a look at my last grow, had some probs with hermies and could not get reliable cuttings so i ordered seeds for the first time and got more coming to.

http://forum.grasscity.com/indoor-grow-journals/415806-1800w-1800w-full-room-grow-tips-wanted.html

In my new one it says all the strains im growing.

Yea, thats all i can think of off the top of my head, you seem like your a grower i should be asking these questions, seems like you are also letting this great hobbie consume alot of your life like me. and just hope you dont mind spending time helping out others..... if you dont want to just tell me to fuck off.

I think ill move my future journals to this site as there seems to be a hell of alot of pros with good tips here.

Cheers man, hope your interested in my grow as much as i am yours!

huge room, stay safe!

if you want an idea for cheap tables instead of all the drain connections check my thread in my sig, last 3-4 pages . after this grow or 2 comes down you may want to go same route as i. super cheap 4x8 tables with presized pondliner from lowes....
and i am having the same issue with the runoff off the table, cause of lacking height. i am looking for a low profile tote with decent volume to hold the weeks runoff. i am gettin like -34 gal a day from 30 3 gal coco/perlite lasses.... will lessen as they grow/drink more, but suck for now. my shit is ghetto slapped in too, just til i move and go all out again. best of luck on these rooms, gonna subscribe to your threads and watch!

Hi!
Sweet room,man!
Fwiw, the Chemdog D Clone, under 1000w HPS',runs exactly 67 days to Absolute Perfection. Running it into the 70s "dumbs-down" the high, and you gain no weight, either. Flush the last ten days, any more doesn't get you cleaner smoke,& starting the flush too early will reduce yields.
Imo you flowered the "D" quite short,it doesn't stretch but several inches in flower,at least in my gardens,(I run 45-55% rH,and 76-78f,100% constant) but it does fill out significantly.
That's a nasty power bill-Good For You!! :D :D

Cheers!
