Soooo.... if I understand correctly, It's too much of a pain to grow your own at the current price you are paying?

How would your 'ass' feel if they doubled or tripled that amount?
Here in Colo. they imposed a 40% tax on the retail end. If you weren't allowed to grow your own. Where would they 'level' the price out at, since they would then have a captive audience. I read on IC that at some point, Weed was bringing $5000 a pound? OUCH!

Since I don't find quality of my 'homegrown' to be an issue (nor do my friends and relatives ), I find even $250 an oz too much. lol But then again, I'm a cheap bastard, I'm retired, and all the strains that I've grown to date have grown like a weed (pun intended)..... I've never even been inside a retail outlet here, nor do I have medical card, so the Dispensaries won't even let me look at their wares.

Then again; if I liked alcohol I'd make that myself too. :tiphat:

Like I said if its cheap rnough and good quality id quit. Not sure what your sayin.... ????

if they didn't want us producing intoxicants , then brewing your own beer and wine should be illegal.

small grows should be ok, but beyond an amount is prohibited. like alcohol, can produce x gallons a year w/out having a license. to sell it ya need additional licensing. If this were 85 years ago, I would be a felon for brewing a gallon of devil's elixir (alcohol).

most ppl know the gov has a shit record of doing jobs. i don't trust them a bit with my tax dollars. the majority of profits would prolly make more ignorant children in skoolz. more bombs, more ignorance. . .

What I'm saying is; IF you let them make it into a monopoly by excluding 'grow your own'. They will not only raise the tax levels, the few who are allowed to grow will raise their prices as well.

You'd have to 'adjust' your sensitivity to growing, or take it up the ass exponentially.

As long as we have the ability to grow. It places limits on not only the taxation, but the suppliers as well. JM$.o2

I don't know what the current prices are at the retail level here in Colo., but on opening day of 'retail', someone posted a picture of a cash register receipt. It showed 8 items purchased, each being 1/8th of an oz...... Total after taxes was $456. And that was for just one oz. total.

It caused me to reconsider the buying as opposed to purchasing situation.

SP: I didn't mean to seem to pick on you. Was only relating what I've seen in my lifetime (60 plus years so far). :tiphat:

Hey not probs. Just dont think we r talkin about the same thing... at the currrent prices I pay from the gov. Its not even an option for me.... 8 to 13 bucks a gram for crap. When I say cheap im talkin 1 to 2 bucks a gram for quality... something closer to cannabis cup quality rec weed. Thats what I mean by cheap and quality.. .

Currently I can get 6 bucks a gram for good quality from dispensary. Not bad. Good selection. Pretty good consistency.

Im all for legalization... not restricted legalization. So like you say a monopoly occurs, just like gas.... there is no real competition in gas. Or tobacco. Its like they get together and set prices together. Few big ones run the show. Telecommunications... list goes on....

Restricted legalization leads to the rape for sure. I use tobacco cause no one grows their own tobacco. That I know of.... even with the shit they put in there... no one grows their own... sure it would work in the same model...

F*** this concept of legal and illegal. Legal and moral do not always correlate. Hitler exterminating people was perfectly legal by German law. Stalin executing and imprisoning millions was legal too. The only reason tobacco is legal, because it is super-hard to grow outside several very powerful countries - China, Brazil, US, India. How the hell is this devil's weed legal and Cannabis is not? Oh wait, seems weed is easy (relatively speaking..) to cultivate even for a layman, so it's hard to regulate.
Besides, prices of legal weed are TOO DAMN HIGH!! It's a basic consumer good, and should be available to all classes.
So no, legal or illegal, I will continue to grow my own.

I don't wanna buy no weed from no cop
Get knocked up and they close up my shop
That's why I buy no weed from no one

The problem with it being illegal is that in order to buy it you have to support a system of people who deal hard drugs and use violence. If it were legal you could buy it from people who run an honest business rather than supporting violent thugs.

I fight for legalization, but that doesn't mean I'll bend over backwards for Johnny Law Dog! I want legalization for OUR protection. If they legalize smoking, but not growing, I'll still be growin.......... but my fight will change to 'GROW GREEN!'

How is it too late, and for whom?

Well Jhhnn

I thought you would be able to answer this as we have been over it many many times!

Whom
Those that voted yes to legalize, and are not allowed home growing by law.

How is it too late?
They will never get the right to grow back.

GEEZZE that was a easy one!:tiphat:

Do you know to whom I refer now?
If not you may review the many many posts I have made on this exact subject.
Then you would know for sure without having to ask.
Although, It is my assumption you already knew the answer.

That kinda doesnt make sense to me.. if its fully legalized then why would my growing rights be taken away?..

Growing it is just as fun as smoking it. At least for me.

funny thing is most people doing hard time for pot are doing it for cultivation (if not importation)

this wont change

but people who want to smoke out in public without harassment will have the right to do so

mmm mmm mmm taste that progress

soon that government dick that gets put into everybodys mouth when they take regulated pharmaceuticals such as opiates for example will be in their mouth when they smoke pot

just like Afghanistan's poppies which feed the legal pharmaceutical trade

subjugation through regulation and legalization

remember that big ol' government dick got the blood and shit on it from everyone they fucked in the ass before you

It's important for the government to separate growing from smoking because then they can level a sin tax to punish an immoral activity.
To me growing and smoking are the same thing.
Smokers have never been the government's target. Growers and dealers are who they want. The idea that there is a cash economy out there outside their control, that there are people surviving without having to work a normal 9-5 job in their "real" world pisses them off.
It's important to show that there is no lifestyle possible in the world today that exists outside their consumer way. The thought that a person could survive growing and harvesting a plant without all the taxes, bullshit, and paperwork necessary to run a business in this country angers them immensely.

I agree 100% reverend.

and if it hasn't happened already, they will take their legalization laws, grow or no grow and start taking things away from you if you prescribe to MMJ or a 'registered' recreational user (you don't think they aren't collecting that data, do you?) , like guns ('you're always high, so you cant be trusted with a gun') , driving (if you have a card, it will be on you licence, I guess and they'll check closer if you get pulled over), attach something to parenting (you're always high, bad example.. etc, etc..) if they don't have 'their' hand in ''our' pockets, you/we aren't patriotic and a criminal.

sick bastards.:moon: <i've waited a long time to use this smiley 'face'.
