Nah, wasn't even born yet in the 60s and 70s.
I've had fantastic seeded scraggly golden sativa for around $100 a QP while in central america. Unlike anything I've ever had before or since. Loved it. Most of it came from southern highland mexico.
Wasn't bricked though. I have never seen anything but garbage come up in brick form to the US from mexico.
Dude, I'm in my 20's. When I was real young a family friend gave me a big ol' bag of Mexican that a friend of his brings (brought?) up with him every year when he visits, ever since then I've been hooked.
Yes, the majority of mexican herb you'll see in most places in America (other than the Southwest) is going to be bricked beyond recognition, poorly grown, and possibly moldy. And as I mentioned before, it has been years since I've had access to quality Mexican herb, so I don't have a clue what it's like nowadays. But I implore you to look for a good highland mexican variety in seed form, or even just pop a shitload of mexi bagseeds, and find a keeper...it ain't hardcore knock-yer-head-back smoke nor is it going to typically win any awards for flavor or olfactory notes, but it is some of the most blissfully relaxing and enjoyable herb you could ever hope to smoke, especially when grown correctly.
there's a reason why some of the world's finest breeders rely on Mexican lines in their crosses...
