Nah, wasn't even born yet in the 60s and 70s.

I've had fantastic seeded scraggly golden sativa for around $100 a QP while in central america. Unlike anything I've ever had before or since. Loved it. Most of it came from southern highland mexico.

Wasn't bricked though. I have never seen anything but garbage come up in brick form to the US from mexico.

Dude, I'm in my 20's. When I was real young a family friend gave me a big ol' bag of Mexican that a friend of his brings (brought?) up with him every year when he visits, ever since then I've been hooked.

Yes, the majority of mexican herb you'll see in most places in America (other than the Southwest) is going to be bricked beyond recognition, poorly grown, and possibly moldy. And as I mentioned before, it has been years since I've had access to quality Mexican herb, so I don't have a clue what it's like nowadays. But I implore you to look for a good highland mexican variety in seed form, or even just pop a shitload of mexi bagseeds, and find a keeper...it ain't hardcore knock-yer-head-back smoke nor is it going to typically win any awards for flavor or olfactory notes, but it is some of the most blissfully relaxing and enjoyable herb you could ever hope to smoke, especially when grown correctly.

there's a reason why some of the world's finest breeders rely on Mexican lines in their crosses...

I wasn't insinuating that you were old, just that the days of high quality mexican in the US are long past us.

I agree mexican genetics are crucial to modern cannabis, wasn't knocking them. I'm sure even some of the diluted shit the cartels grow is decent before it's bricked and molded.

I just hate the cartels and the various toxic processes they use, and all the innocent dead folks they leave along the way.

i would rather have an 8th of fire quality smoke that i actually enjoy smoking...than a whole zip of beaster mids that taste like crap and barely do the job...

heres some of my GDP....im all about taste really, dont even care about the high. i just love smoking exotic and tasting those terpenes....the lemon fuel of an OG, the thick creamyness of the cookies, or the fruity floral lavender from the GDP....YUM! i dont even use butane lighters on my bong anymore its all glass glowrod for that pure taste..

+1 for the fire

if given the choice would you eat oatmeal all day so you can eat a $20 kobe steak for dinner?
or just get 4 happy meals?

you only get so many tokes in your life, who knows which one you are on?

edit:
just occured to me that you could grab the half, turn it into oil, and prolly end up with 1.5g's of super amazing concentrate.

that would be like taking the 4 happy meals in my already shaky analogy, and making them into 4 bites of wagyu beef.

Quality over quantity for me, and that goes for more than cannabis.

well, I too have noticed how difficult it is to get that nice mexi brick that I got started on. Of course there were more bad batches than I care to remember, but quite often I'd take a bag of clumped, seeded, mexican sativa brick over that pretty looking but do nothing (for me) indica bud that is 20/gram

So is it the cartels that have fucked up the mexican weed trade? I started smoking weed in 2001 and I imagine the cartels controlled things then as well

i noticed the longer i don't smoke i can get really high off mids. just like the loud can. So i'm going to stop smoking for a few. ahh nice break time!
