This thread looks like the republican national convention.
IMO, about 10 percent of us, perhaps less, do work that actually contributes to society.
Sorry I thought The OP was talkin about, slack jawed, vacant starin, lyin zombie pinches of shit who say they are gonna do somethin then DON"T? My Bad..
Well they are exactly as I discribed now that you mentoin it!!you mean politicians?
Where I'm from I pay tax on my wages...it's called PRSI (pay related social insurance)
Fair enough my job doesn't involve saving endangered panda's or feeding the starving millions but the tax I pay every week helps pay for schools, hospitals, roads, cops, and the basic services that keeps society functioning.
It those that live off the welfare state that don't contribute to society not the average working tax payer
Pretty much. That, interest on debt, and the P.I.C. Food stamps and lazy people milking welfare make up such a small piece of the pie it shouldn't even be in the conversation.most of our taxes actually go to military..........
I don't have the solutions but I think ROn Paul said it best when he said that we may have to change what we expect that government does for us....
thats a assrertion made by you, and if we went back to the original plan/constitution perhaps the veil will be lifted for the common folk or for the intelligent to see this or we can keep trying to balance the ponzi scheme that is our FED. and wich most dems, seem on supporting reguardless of reality as long as the social programs keep rolling in and pass the buck they will be fine and can make sound bites for the media and zombies to absorb.
Neither am I, pointing the finger at a given stripe. IMO, humanity alone owns it's less-than-savory individuals and only enforced regulations will address these concerns.im not saying ther'e arnt corrupt republicans you know who they are cause they are just as socialist and as much war mongers as all the rest and the media covers them frequently.
dont include Dr.paul with the rest of the morons pls. hes THE most intelligent out of both parties.
If you have a job of any kind, you are cool with me.
To clear things up, the people I am referring to do not have a job, period. In some states, you don't have to have a job to collect state aid. They live off state & federal tax payers and make no effort to support themselves. It's real! And a major social problem. Are you collecting state aid and doing nothing? I'm sure you're not, so your situation, arrangement, life does not bother me.
Disco, I was talking to someone other day who tried to defend laissez-faire capitalism to me. I was pointing out the ever-widening disparity and concentration of wealth, and the response was, "Capitalism is cyclical. There is a concentration of wealth, but then a depression occurs and levels the playing field. Its a cycle."
I don't know what y'all would have done if you had to look someone in the eye and listen to that. If you come across someone like that irl and you aren't attending a Republican National Convention, just walk away, dudes, just walk away. That's what I did. Tactfully. As I was taking a sip of my beer, I said, "Hmmm," as if I was pondering the profoundness of his postulates. But as I sipped my beer, I planned my escape. . . .
