What do YOU think is under the ice in Antarctica?

There are plenty of indications that Antarctica has been frozen for a very long time: one of the most obvious is that characteristic clear blue ice: it take a great deal of pressure a very long time to squeeze the air out of ice....

Given the time scale, I doubt there would be any indication at all of even the most developed and complex civilization. The weight of ice, the grinding movement over eons....

Mega ton's of coal. Trillions of barrels of oil. Gold nuggets as big as washing machines or bigger. Rubies, sapphires, emeralds, diamonds as big as basketballs. More wealth in minerals than the mind can imagine.

That is the main reason no one can go there. We would strip it bare or war over it for centuries....

if that was all there, it would destroy the market value. they have to ration the release of diamonds to market NOW to keep them "rare" & valuable. on the other hand, sales of Detroit muscle cars would go up as gas prices fell off the edge of the planet...:biggrin:
