I was around for the tail-end of those days....sorta. We were poor as dirt in the 80s and early 90s so it was really like I was living in the 70s and earlier. Good times.
SEVEN channels? I only had three, & one of them was pro wrestling from Asheville NC (johnny weaver, moondog, & various midgets & albinos), and the other two had more snow than Boston has this year.

I'd say 9/11 was the last time I was truly shocked. I stood there watching the TV with my mouth hanging open. But I also knew people in the building, so it hit home pretty hard. One of my friends had quit 2 days before, and was scheduled to have his exit interview at 9:00 a.m. They called him the day before and rescheduled it for 3:00. He would have been there. Another guy I know managed to get out just before the collapse. serious shit.
