Dont get me wrong, i still like to smoke her every now and then, i love the taste and the smell. But shes not commercially viable around here any more, started to fall off once the haze craze kicked in a few yrs back, and even now the price on the haze has dropped compared to what it was a few years back.

I smoked half a joint of it once that someone brought back from a festival for me.I wasn't overly impressed at being given a chipped spliff but when he told me he'd got it off a fella who told him it had been flowered for around 20 weeks I took a bit more of an interest. The flavour was a bit weird, I think mostly due to the fact the joint had been chipped the day before I got it, lit and put out again once that day, and then given to me. It was fucking strong for the head, almost like speed. I know it wasn't adulterated with hard drugs because at the time I was familiar enough with most available to have been able to recognise it. Ever since those handful of tokes on an oily joint I've wanted to find that clone, which at the time was known about in a couple of soundsystem circles. I'm not sure the name actually has anything more than a reference to the borough rather than being it's birthplace but I imagine more than a few jamaican seeds have turned up there in one form or another.

There was certainly some banging jamaican weed about pre 2000... .There was a rasta fellow I'd meet year after year at strawberry fayre, he had a little stall selling flags, all kinds of red gold and green colured bits and bobs, and really good reggae mixtapes or recordings from soundclashes or dances. Once you got to know him, or showed you had an appreciation for rootsy dub, he'd usually part with some really nice herb. It was very similar to the mersh jamaican/african but it was sinsemilla and had not been compressed into bricks. That was the first time I got an appreciation for the footprint left by rigours of commercial cultivation and international smuggling techniques in terms of the quality of the end product. I recall it was very sticky, and had that 'pencil shavings' woody/waxy smell when the bud was smelt, in a joint the cherry emitted thick blue tinted smoke and was very exotic/spicy tasting, quite expansive and likely to make you cough.
The twin towers event fucked up a lot of supply lines due to the extra security protocols that were put in place. Anyone remember the epic swiss greenhouse grown white widow and super silver haze that was around in the mid to late nineties? I later found out it was coming from one of shantibabas operations. I spent a lot of time and money trawling through MrNice SSH seeds looking for the catpiss pheno I loved which used to come in those swiss boxes.

i'd say the uk is mostly self sufficient ,,import these days is usually frowned upon irrelevant of the quality or price ,that can be blamed on all the weed that was washed and tumbled for hash in the the early 2000's

I recall in my 'security' of self sufficiency I completely fucked up a deal someone was making with a fellow I knew. The matey who was vending the herb started going into some spiel about having to put the price up AND the weight had gone down. I couldn't believe what I was hearing and piped up saying it was maybe acceptable to do one or the other based on market influences but to do both at once was a attempt at having his cake whilst eating it and a blatant piss-take to boot.. He got annoyed and left refusing to vend to my mate. I left him a couple of joints and sheepishly made my exit.

I was talking to a fella who is only in to oils and he was in Swaziland looking at machine they were using to extract them.
They were sending the oil to be mixed over in Morocco with the hash which ties in a few comments I remember in the hash thread on here.
Sell at £160. It's been the same price for 3-4 years around here.
