Basic race relations 101. Everyone in every race is an individual and everybody is different. Everybody who voted for Trump is not a racist. Maybe they realize that the truth about unemployment in the usa. Only 46% of the working age population has a job where they work at least 35 hours a week and get benefits. The other 54% are either unemployed or grossly underemployed. Since that is the case, why would you allow 30 million people to come into this country looking for work? Talk about something that would really kill the African American communties where the unemployment rate is sky high. Don't you care about the African American community you racist.
To those people who voted for Trump that are aware of those unemployment facts, it wouldn't matter if Sweden was on our border. We wouldn't want 30 million white Swedish people coming to our country either. It's common sense that if you don't have enough jobs in your country for the citizens who live there, you shouldn't let in millions more looking for work.
It has nothing to do with the color of the skin of the people who want to come here; it has everything to do with the fact that our economy doesn't supply enough jobs for the people who are already here.

The rest of the world looks at US Law on cannabis as kinda schizophrenic - so I reckon soon now they will have to get federal law to catch up with the states that have decrim'ed/legalized - it just doesn't make sense to have one very stern fed law that puts cannabis in with heroin and LSD (Schedule 1.) - and yet over half the states now have some sort of legalization of cannabis.

Maybe the POTUS will pull the federal legalization rabbit out of the hat when he comes up for re-election in 2020? - to help get more votes - that's if he can get congress to do that.

I believe legalization MUST happen at the federal level, given that prohibition, taxation, and elimination of cannabis has *always* been top-down, with the feds pressing heavy to make sure everyone got in line. Punting the question of cannabis, after all the loss, incarceration, and human misery - to the states, of all places - is an abdication of responsibility and a failure of both strength and leadership. There is no reason for the states to legalize weed, it’s an essential component of the school-to-prison pipeline. I’m not sure pointless traffic stops and wholesale vagrancy charges will make it as easy for states to suppress the black vote as weed does.

The punt would mean little overall, I think: it would end federal anti-cannabis activities overtly, maybe, but the states would have little reason to care unless cannabists in every state are able to secure absolute rights to grow, tend, harvest, process, use, ingest, apply, transfer, gift, and sell cannabis of whatever variety, in whatever quantity, on whatever terms, as they choose.
