This new website is terrible!!!

i dont want to read 11 pages of pissing and moaning i just want to know if we can have our old home back? I love icmag but it just got really uncomfortable. i dont want to seem unappreciative of gypsys great efforts but the culture shock is nauseating.

I found the list of who has been online, but it is avitar based. Lets see if this copy/paste from screen shot works. t didn't, and I can't find that spot on the site that had it. It was at the bottom of a page (I thought "new topics", but it's gone now).

When I m making a post and want to add a pic, the site takes directly the file from my PC folder, as the photo is saved there from my camera. I cannot see how to edit the picture to add caption, nor how to move the picture to the appropriate gallery in my "media". When looking at the pictures in a post that were put up that way, the site will lock up easily if you scroll through the other pics. The page you post from will list a bunch of pics, some more than once. Etras are shown as attachments.

Maybe we need a "how to" guide to use the new version of the site.

Finding a previous post I made to make an edit is almost impossible. We used to be able to to our home page and look at the list of our own posts, which made finding your own posts easier.

Do we need to customize the font on every post we make so they are readable? Nevermind, you can't.

Check out catbox. It's more private than imgur, has a 200mb storage limit and allows you to upload more than just pictures (gifs etc). Doesnt change quality or anything. It's what I've been using now and I'm pleased with it.

Though I appreciate the effort you put in, this update feels like a pre alpha version of what it´s supposed to be...The layout is way too bright for tiny red eyes, my avatar is not visible next to my posts, but it is, if I look at my profile...I can´t find my threads, my albums show the oldest pics first... Most pics in the posts are very tiny thumbnails, the signatures are missing....overall very hard to navigate through the page....I´m missing "my IC" and "my posts"....Sorry, but there is a lot of work to do, to make this more user friendly again...

New Topics, Who's Online and My Recent Posts, its all at the top of the site accessible from every page.

If you click Latest Activity from the home page you will see new posts instead of topics. Doing it in a sub forums will only show posts for that sub forum.

As soon as the picture is uploaded you get to add the Caption, if you upload to a post it will put the picture in an album called Posted Photos. If you want it in another album, post it in that album and then attach the image from the album to the post.

This will be fixed when we have worked out some more of the bugs.

Thats people posting them wrong. if you use the paperclip you can insert a size, like i am.

My Profile > Edit Settings > Account > Show Signatures

- we will play around with the background a bit - to try and find a more suitable colour/graphic - I'd like to see a light pastel green instead of the stark white myself - looks like the font and size of print are not customizable just yet - that needs to be addressed soon -

I've had to increase the page size to 150% to see better. (Ctrl +), haven't tried larger then 150%

If anything can be addressed soon, please darken this white somehow. Its way too bright for almost everyone.

So any mod or admin reading this...... I would like all my pics and albums deleted from the site and would like my account deleted altogether.

Same thing happened here tom i could not delete any albums and they were showing up in public even though i had them set to subscribers only and to me thats a security risk for me, so asked milsyuk to delete which he did thanks, but photos are still showing up in diarys i have done so still a concern for me too but maybes in future this will get fixed so still a security risk in my eyes just dont log on as much watch from the sidelines so to speak i feel a lot safer only logged in to give you a heads up on milsyuk anyhow good luck with whats ever round the corner guys and to mods and admin best of luck to you too and of course the boss too !!!!

- it was always going to be a difficult - this transition - but it had to be done - we were running on 15 year old software - that needed upgrading to 2021 - along with so many bolt-on modifications and additions the old site had - that don't migrate so well or at all - to the new format - so we have had to find work-arounds - its been awkward to say the least - and is still in transition - as we improve this new site - to more suit the members and visitors -

All forum sites should be a work in progress that have to change with the times - or they just stagnate - our problem has been not changing enough in the past - so this step has been a great big one - with many more problems than I originally envisaged - but we are working thru them - currently improving the search function amongst many other lose ends -

- for those who have decided to move on - due to these changes - you will be missed - do pop back and see us again - maybe it'll be more to your liking then?
- for those who stick with us - hang on for the ride - it should improve from here on out -

Well hopefully this transition will improve. I’m going to be on the sideline until I can cope with the new site. This is all too much and confusing for me presently. I enjoyed the old format as it was easy. Good luck to the admin and all involved.

Its not that bad, the two step notifications thing is weird, no need for a drop down menu for two options that take you to the same place, that could just be a one hit button. The pic thing needs work. The new subjects don't need to include the first post of each thread, just the titles would be better, and yeah, this white back ground, ( feels like a what did the romans ever do for us sketch) but its OK.
