The Union: The Business Behind Getting High

yeah, i've watched the union like 10 times since i got it.

I think we should all download it, make 10 copies on DVD and send it to 10 random people with a note that says "Watch this, it might challenge what you think, but please watch it to the end." you know...something like that except well written and driving the point. Then encourage them to talk to their friends and loved ones about it, and then pass the dvd on to their friends and uninformed.

I know it'd break some copyright laws...but fuck...it's important. We should all take up a collection to help fund the production and distribution of the dvd so it's easily available.

It may not be THE PERFECT documentary, but it's the best there is and it is pretty damn eye opening. everyone in America needs to see this...several times.

That was excellent! It's great to see a professional, well put together piece on cannabis and the effects of it's illicit nature.

I liked when the one fellow said at the end, "Even right now as we do this interview, I've been smoking all morning. This is what I look like high." I don't understand how someone who thinks cannabis should be illegal can listen to that fellow's interviews, hear him speak articulately and intelligently about a subject he clearly knows quite a bit about, hear him admit that he interviewed that well while under the influence of the exact same plant, and STILL maintain their ridiculous arguments.

Thanks for posting that link!

The Union: The Business Behind Getting High

BC's illegal marijuana trade industry has evolved into a business giant, dubbed by some involved as 'The Union', Commanding upwards of $7 billion Canadian annually. With up to 85% of 'BC Bud' being exported to the United States, the trade has become an international issue. Follow filmmaker Adam Scorgie as he demystifies the underground market and brings to light how an industry can function while remaining illegal. Through growers, police officers, criminologists, economists, doctors, politicians and pop culture icons, Scorgie examines the cause and effect nature of the business - an industry that may be profiting more by being illegal.

I am humbled and forever grateful for you posting such an invaluable piece of knowledge. Thank you, thank you, thank you. This will forever change my life and everyone around me who is in touch with the cannabis plant, I will make it my mission to make sure of that.

I'm so happy this is a sticky!! I was going to post a thread on this but here it is!!! I loved it and thought it was well put together.. The cocaine thing didn't bug me really cuz noticed how he said "IF" key word "IF" it makes it down there and they way he made it sound I don't think it happens very often.

I also think this is a great place to post Cannabis Documentaries and I have a few, I'm trying to find links for you guys..

I have

The Magic Weed (really good one )
Grass - The History of Marijuana (pretty cool with Woody Harelson as narator)
Timeshift - The Cannabis Years (a great one from the UK)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
All of these above I got in a torrent called Drugs, which was a folder neatly put together full of other folders organized by drugs and has everything in it! But the Cannabis folder is my favorite of course. Search for those above and watch them you will be happy you did my grandma loved them!

So while searching for those on Demonoid today for you smokers and smokettes I found a NEW doc! called HIGH - The True Tale of American Marijuana ... It looks really good so I'm downloading it now..
here's the link for it though http://www.demonoid.com/files/details/1789888/14814144/

here's the link for GRASS - The History of Marijuana
http://www.demonoid.com/files/details/1740426/11110608/

Ok well that's it on the links I guess I'll have to learn how to upload a torrent or make one for that matter, hope you guys enjoy!

U.S. Television gives us "Marijuana Inc."
whereas
Canadian Television gives us "The Union"

that's why I love all you peaceful intelligent neighbors from the north.

I just finished watching The Union : the businesses behind getting high and I thought that if you sat any remotely intelligent person down to watch it they would have to say that marijuana should be legal. If only we could sit down congress and the prez on movie night :/

Just watched this documentary earlier, pretty damn good if you haven't seen it yet. They talk about the growing culture in B.C., get into US law some and of course the controversy. Anyone else seen this yet?

Saw it, it was like every other stoner documentary. It started out great, then went to crap. I stopped watching about an hour in.
