time for another classic.... more of that gritty, dark, new york style rap straight from Jamaica queens...

123 by the lost boyz...

1.. 2.. 3.. thousand problems
1.. 2.. 3.. thousand problems
(problems, who's got problems
she's got problems, got problems
three thousand problems, got problems)
It's a cool summer night
My .44's on my waist gotta half a stick of dynamite
Got some beef wit some niggaz across town
Keep my man to the ground
I gotta shut it down, they pull up on my block
I'm in my little brown hooptie
So they guess I want the white rock
They walk close towards my ride
Surprise motherfucker it's a handful of
1.. 2.. 3.. thousand problem
(I got.. problems, three thousand problems)
I put two to his head
I jumped on the southern state then I'm rushin out to Hempstead
One down and one to go
I heard the next nigga's on and he's gotten a ball of dough
I kick in the nigga's door
I sat the nigga in the door wit my nickel plated fo'-fo'
And word up that shit is soft
The way this nigga hit the floor when the Freaky got raw
Some bitch tried to burst but I shot her in the back
Back! Aiyyo Money where your stash at?
He took me back inside to this room
Beside the safe full a G's he had mad bags of weeds
1.. 2.. 3.. thousand problems
(Problems, I I got problems)
A lot to do
I call up the underground let me speak to that nigga Lu
He said, Taliq, whats up my man?
I got this nigga locked down wit my joint to his gun
And word up he got an mail press
Aiyyo Money what's this address?
1245 Boulevard Queens, and and tell my man they try to caravan
Understand I'm on a mission
And just be nice to pack some extra ammunition
and get some Phillies from the store
And park the van on the corner and you're comin through the side door
1.. 2.. 3.. thousand problems
(I got problems, we got problems)
They get robbed they wanna go
Aand we don't want trouble, I told Lou to move the chairs
Aiyyo Cheeks, help me take this damn bitch down the stairs
I come back up for the session
Money still tied the fuck up confessin
I blow some smoke into his eyes, here nigga
take two more puff before you die
Yo, I stood up, about-faced him
And yo Lost Boyz waste him
and yo Queens waste him, and yo Southside waste him
1..2..3.. thousand problems
(Who got problems
Pretty Lou and the whole motherfuckin world
I got problems)
It's 3 o'clock in the morn
Shit is on motherfuckers shit is on
Yeah yeah, I gotta get this nigga Shawn
I'm drivin in a stolen car wit no motherfuckin plates on
I heard Shawn got crazy ends
But before I do this thing I go and pick up my best friends
A forty ounce and lead feels right
I got to see the boy hillside
Understand now he's in court
I roll all my windows down pull my shit on the corner
but I still bein sneaky
(What's your name?) Cause I'm freaky Taliq, I'm freaky Taliq
But right now I got beef wit this nigga named Shawn
Shit is on word is bond money is gone
He's wit his bitch in bed (ah ah)
I pull out my .44, and I don't wanna do his head
Cause this shit is too easy (even though)
Even though he can go in one squeeze G, it's it's it's crazy
Mr.B's L-B's, a people.. 1.. 2.. 3.. 3.. thousand problems
1.. 2.. 3.. thousand problems

Lost Boyz 1, 2, 3 lyrics

Possibly the sickest rap song created on earth. You can quote me on that one:

Yo
My crew is in the house
Terra, herb mcgruff, buddah bless
Big twan, killa kam, trooper j, and mike boogie
And ima set it like this

[ verse 1: big l ]
Aiyo, folks who quote what I wrote get choked
You better surrender before you get smoked
You niggas be thinkin this kid is a joke?
I put chumps to rest fast, when my smith-wes blast
So just dash or trespass and get your chest smashed
Rap new york rules, I sport jewels and extort crews
Dont get me pissed, I got a short fuse
I go bezerk when I put in work or do dirt, jerk
So stay alert, no smoke, cause these knuckles hurt
Im from the alley, not the valley
Im hotter than cali, wicked like harry
And fuck sally, I rather marry halle
I revive crowds with live styles
Dont hang with jive pals
Adios, ghost, Im 5 thous

[ verse 2: terra ]
Well, Im flav, and I was down with the crime wave
Now its time saved, yo, cause now Im a rhyme slave
In 87 I sold cracks, collected some dough stacks
Hold gats, a joker got his soul taxed
N.o. rated, rappers you no-made it
Tell the terra to rotate it, his raps are gold-plated
This nigga terra is past butter, sharp like a glass cutter
Ass brother, I leave your rhyme trash gutter
Im more rare, the mc in this warfare
Put you in a morgue where its too late for that lord prayer
Power struck, terra drops the follow-up
Sour luck, niggas got and popped and swallow nuts

[ verse 3: herb mcgruff ]
For those that dont know, yo, Im herb mcgruff
Im on some murder stuff
And when I talk every word is ruff
Front on this and get beat bad
With big bats that bruise, break bones
Then wind up bloody in a bodybag
Mcs are live, but Im mad liver
Aiyo, my rhymes are more funky than a afghan cab driver
Step to this and get sliced with ease
Ate up like rice and peas
(herb, can you fight? ) yo, Im nice with these
Ask the nigga in my last bout
He thought I just was on some gun shit, I had to knock his ass out
Microphones I gotta tear
Peace to big l, straight from hell
Im the fuck up outta here

[ verse 4: buddah bless ]
Aiyo, its time to get drastic, but God bless the fantastic
Herb passed it, now I melt the mic like its plastic
I rag crews cause Im bad news
In a mad move Im servin brothers quicker than fast food
Step to this and get your body blown
Cause Im a ? nomaticom? for poems I slide the hotties home
Heres some advice, Im mad nice
Aiyo, Im quick to lick the mag twice
And cold take a fags life
My swellin melon got niggas jealin
Aiyo, fuck bribes, Im takin niggas lives like a felon

[ verse 5: big twan ]
Yo, I bust chumps like a glock 10, when I drops in
The top ten is rocked when its locked in
I just abuse the flow, dont need a fuse to blow
Bruise the groove slow, when I rhyme I just kill the show
I got lines thats deeper than a jail
Been no frail, kids get nailed and read braille when they fail
Yeah, aint I nasty, too nasty to trash me
Bash me, aiyo, thats dead, so dont ask me
Youd get bumped off if beef ever jumped off
I never come soft, I gotta pump that sawed-off
And when I let slugs out, you will get rugged out
For dissin, you come up missin like a cup scout

[ verse 6: killa kam ]
Rappers be funny like flesh, cause they sections 80 slaughter, son
Talk about nines and tecs, and never shot a watergun
But killa kam, I get erratic when it comes to static
There you have it, a trigger fanatic with a automatic
Increase the peace that cease cause once I release
My crew from the east, we leavin at least
20 police deceased, its the beast on attack
So make tracks, I break backs
I jack with def gats and black macs
On lennox ave. aint no light looks, you fight crooks
Left and right hooks, if you front, get your life took

[ verse 7: trooper j ]
Im havin nail-sharp pains in my brain like a hellraiser
Im blazin trails from jail cells, so a trailblazer
Who find crime and fill the nine with nothin but lead
Boom-bye-bye, dem find another batty bwoy dead
In backyard alleys, but I call em crackyard valleys
And I pack more rallys than riots back in cali
And people wanna know the reason why I blow my fuse
Im in a daze and Im so confused
>from seein heads shake so many times the lead make
And mike boogies next up, and keep my head straight

[ verse 8: mike boogie ]
I should never rhyme cause every time I step into a contest
Kids evacuate the premises like its a bomb threat
Cause they know when I start droppin poems
That I be knockin domes, poppin bones and sendin niggas hoppin home
Word to god, its kinda hard for a fag to touch this
So if youre comin to see me, nigga, bring a cask and crutches
And niggas, I dont need a gun for you, none of you
Cause I can kill you dead with the lead from my no. 2
And its death in every paragraph
And niggas learn when I burn they muthafuckin ass to ash
No need to question am I nice, cause its a fact, friend
I shoot the gift like santa clause with a mac-10
And niggas aint half as nice, so they get sacrificed
And sent to the afterlife, they aint no match for mike
Now Im bout to skate in a rush, just finished makin it tough
Peace to big l, aiyo, 8 is enough

True, true
And before I get up outta here
I gotta say peace to d-whiz and short man
Brothers that was there since the beginning
Whats up to rockin wheel from the hard pack crew
Peace to mase murder and the b.b.o. crew
The best out crew, the m&m crew
And all the other crews thats representin in harlem
You know what Im sayin?
And last but not least
I gotta say peace to the 139th street nfl crew
My crew
Word up

R.I.P Big L

I am suprised i never stopped in this thread before... I love all sort of music, although there will always be a soft spot in my heart for rap, especially Southern rap...

Earlier this year I started playing around with trying to make my own mix tapes...here I uploaded my most recent rap one here:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/uavxo7

one thing to note is i recorded that shiat on the fly, didn't have the songs or anything picked out ahead of time... thats also like my 7th or 8th try at the program... the program is called Ableton Live 7.

I think I might do one right now with just Southern Rap :)
I have also learned how to fuck with the EQ now, since making that mp3 like 4 months ago?

eeerrie, what up heads.

For all the west coast heads, I have been feeling the new Grouch jam, "Take me to LA [and back to the bay]" and Messy Marvs "From Diego to the Bay".

I was a bit disappointed with the newest Lyrics Born Album, but hear Del is dropping some new shit soon.

Southern rap? I'd be interested to know what you consider southern rap. All rap from the south?

A whole lotta stuff is underground, doesn't get airplay. Kinda like Ron Paul, the message is there, but it doesn't get out. Might be a little too real.

TI, Outkast, Goodie Mob, Ludacris and lots of DTP, Youngbloodz, DJ Screw, Lil Flip,

pretty much nothing you would ever hear on the radio... none of TI's new stuff, same with luda and outkast

edit: unless you were in Atlanta or Miami, possibly Houston

Ok Ok I see

I don't consider Ludacris southern rap but I can respect him doing his thing.

Pretty much all you hear on the radio in Houston now is Bun B's Gangsta and Lil Wayne's Lollipop and a few other songs

I won't post any links but copy and paste these on youtube:

1. FUCK ATLANTA:ATL Rappers vs HOUSTON Rappers

and in no way do I have any hate for any ATL people in here

2. Z-Ro - Life (feat. Mr 3-2 & H2O)

3. Lil Keke - Still Pimping Pens Ft. DJ Screw

(keke and DJ Screw)

3. DJ Screw (feat. Fat Pat & Lil Keke)- Pimp Tha Pen (KeKe)

That's some Houston stuff right there, I wouldn't call it Southern Rap, I've never heard anyone else in the south call it that either haha but anyway give those few a listen, it's some old school stuff.

By the way, DJ Screw tapes were like crack back in the day. Nowadays you can order the CDs online at the screwshop. I actually met him at his store back in the day.

Man so many H-town rappers have passed away. Almost no one left.

Edit - Probably my favorite tape of all time is No Drank by DJ Screw.

Bone Thugs will be in my cd player till i die...

there are way too many good songs to list, shiat, they are only like one of 10 rap groups i would ever buy there CD's and thats a generous number,

I forgot to post my favorite rap cd of all time, its a toss up between Outkast-Atliens, and Aquimini... atliens has jazzy bell and a few other classics, yet aquimini is Solid from track 2-16, love that cd.
Yup its Aquimini, i vote...
