Amazing!
Each man is an island and today i seem to be talking in freaking quotes.
From the ethereal non-reality of southflorida to the down to earth/ostrich approach of Harry Lime and everything in between is just beautiful what a guy can actually "learn" from all this exposure.
yeah...stoners paradise (icmag) drops distinctions all day long
BTW i totally disagree with your last statement southflorida
"For most folks this is a hard thing to get their head around, but when one does, the human condition is seen for what it is.
survival (physical 1% social 99%) "
Are you really saying that we are stuck on this? Or are you talking about the majority of the Human population? Do we have means/needs to break these concepts?
I'm talking about all of us. You, me, Harry, that dude that was so many stones I forgot, and that pumped iron for so many years, we're all in this together...remember ONE love!
To break free from the self-mind is possible, but it is NOT likely for the majority of folks. And, while the self-mind is in the DRIVER's SEAT, and that's how it is for almost all people on this third rock from the sun, ALL we do is SURVIVE. No exception.
Self = Survival with the whole package (suffering, pain, lies, etc, etc, etc)
No Self = No Suffering, True Freedom
And what do you mean with those 99% social?
Using Harry Lime example, it is a good one, where do my love for growing plants, any plants, and caring for animals, again any animals, goes into?Survival? Social?
And why all my emotional side relating with both these two innocent activities, farming and breeding animals, that the Human race have been doing since ever?
99% social means that as we learned to take care of the physical survival part, we focused the majority of our attention on the SOCIAL survival.
The Social Domain is F*CKING HUGE....DUUUUDE...like totally Narly...know what I'm sayin bud
Harry and you and me, we are heavily tilted toward the Social side.
Someone living in the middle of Africa and starves most of the time, obviously is tilted toward the physical survival.
But, this doesn't mean Social Survival isn't important to them folks living in Africa...it just means that food and shelter are VERY important issues, and take up more than our 1%.
what you call your emotional side...IS...the self-mind running you on the treadmill that never shuts-off....NEVER
and this IS your self-mind...in case you're wondering
If you ask your self a question...am I a self...and your answer is YES...your on the treadmill...if the answer is NO...you're on the treadmill.
To step off it takes serious contemplation, and to take back control from your self-mind is not an easy accomplishment.
It is possible...but NOT likely. Just being honest.
