The Budget LED's Thread: Imported, Chinese $$$ Saving

Comfortably numb!
One word... Alibaba = junk!

:mopper:

Alibaba is a B2B platform that allows businesses to make wholesale purchases from manufacturers and suppliers across Asia, especially in China. The cheap labor in China and Asia make manufacturing a huge industry there, and growing companies are able to protect their bottom line by getting affordable suppliers through Alibaba. In addition, the wide variety of items available on the platform means there’s hardly anything you can’t find, from manufactured goods to custom products and machinery parts. Further, the platform’s user-friendly design makes it a go-to place for businesses looking for suppliers.
Alibaba.com also has a few tricks that allow it to cater to different businesses and regions and reach a wider customer base. You can order items in bulk, get customized printing on your products, and each vendor sets their own minimum order numbers. And yes, you can even bargain or negotiate on the price. Additionally, the platform offers a variety of payment methods so businesses can always find a convenient way to pay for their orders.
There is no QA. Besides, try and return stuff to China. Good luck with that. It cost more to return the item than what it cost. I was in the ecig business for 5 yrs. WE (ecig vendors) covered the warranty not the company, read not necessarily Alibaba, but as stated, Alibaba gets their cut up front, now YOU deal with the mfr warranty with the mfr.

... and simply put (GO FUCK YOURSELF) <--- Chinese to the rest of the world. We got your money, sue us!

KB are a bit of an odd one. They use the Alibaba site but treat it somewhat like Aliexpress. In business terms, they make optics. Their own website doesn't have a QB in sight. No drivers. Nothing of the sort. What we buy seems like consumer gear just sold through Ali.

If you want their optics, that's what they are on Alibaba for. They are often in lots of 500. The lights are individually priced though, with no suggestion KB are anything but a reseller with a good reputation. No purple sphincter 1000s are available from KB at all. They're just not like that. It's surprising to hear they chat with so many of us about our needs at all.

It's been like that from the beginning.
I remember talking with Jerry about their future offerings according to advice he got from growers/buyers, me included. Listen to people's needs(those who know what they talk about), learn and make it happen. A good strategy for success.
I'm a fan of KingBrite since day one.

Cheers
