Is there some way to retrofit the appion so it can handle butane better?

nak, I wouldn't go over 3x24 if your still using a 6x12. A 3x36 is too big and you will over fill your collection spool which means oil in in the appion, which brings us full circle Be very careful, Ive done it with a 3x24 column into a 6x12 collection..
I heard SF is attempting to get viton seals made for appions.......and maybe a few others guys out there too
Oh.....great lol just what I needed.... Well for now I guess I can see how much time I will actually save vs packing 1.5"x24" columns haha.Your collection times are just slowed to a crawl because your collection vessel is tall an narrow, not much surface area for butane to boil off, which you'll have a lot of.
Hey KCar, I recall seeing that you are using 3"x36" columns, how is that working out for you? I have been thinking of upgrading myself but am debating between 3"x36" and 3"x24". Any insight you can offer? Also I am wondering what converters you used to go from 3" to 1.5" -- the end cap reducers, or concentric reducers? Thanks
Thanks! 570g pretty crazy...I bet its a lot less work to pack and unpack than the 1.5x24" too...It's been great for us! We've been able to put upto 570g in
and have some 80+ gram returns in a 10x12 recovery pot using
about 5lbs butane washed twice. We don't grind or overpack our trim/budlett mix.
Concentric reducer with a course screen before the sightglass and 3 filters inside.
Potentially not the exact right place to ask this but, this is the busiest thread.... I'm trying to get a 100lb tank with the right hoses for my Bhogart... would someone be willing to tell me where I can source those parts?

Any particular reason you opted to use concentric reducer rather than an endcap reducer? The height is getting pretty crazy on this beast with a 10" tall recovery pot then 3' of column, concentric reducers, and sightglass..
Regis, When you talked to caresaver who was it? was it Matthew Ellis? If so he's got a lot invested in caresavers considering he is the only US supplier and packages them with his over priced extraction units, there might be a conflict of interest......When I tried to talked to Caresaver directly and they sent me straight to him....
Would love to hear your take on the Caresaver GW. I could bring it up to the pharm for you guys to check out.
