And in order to make an assessment as such on purity with a botanical matter with so many chemicals what type of assay panel would need to be conducted to conclude that purity?

Any chromatography system that works. Thin layer for finding spots out of place, and for finding out how to get the spots out, also by adsorption on something. None of the published systems is particularly convenient at home. It doesn't help that most of the usual dyes for cannabinoids are uncommon things.

None was too strong a word, the UNODC published some interesting TLC things that might work, like Grlic's 1962 system in Bull. Narc., and the UNODC Recommended methods for the identification and analysis of cannabis and cannabis products.
