Little off topic but you are a seeder right? I think I read in your posts that you started your awesome grows with seeds and picked a strain based on the fact that you could get seeds with out a lot of variation in the seed stock.
I am chasing that technique also. I am looking to pick & breed strains that will finish and have good yield, potency, etc. I have very limited experience in breeding for seed stock or at breeding at all actually.
What is your experience when dealing with some of hybrid strains out there? One of my favorites for my area has been Endless Sky and this year I am trying BBxNL and AK99xFL. I plan on producing seed stock (no crossing) from these if all goes well.
Is there a formula or rule of thumb for what seed strains give a stable next generation?

Well as you probley know i grew alot of SKUNK#1,
great performer outdoors finishes fast......took my seeds to F3's.
Field stock in the hundreds and thousands but there is variations.
You cant worry about variations its just more adventure to me!!!
#1 thing is a good eye for plants,that takes time?
#2 Depends what your going for really,an inbread line F2's,F3's an on....
#3 you must have your girls come up 3 to 4 weeks ahead of males,and then
have places to store the males away from the garden and catch pollen from each!
(without mixing pollens).....an seed lower branches or most of the plant if you like?
Do NOT over seed plants,they can choke from to many and come out small and yellow.
Plus you wanna SMOKE the buds an make hash maybe right!!
#4 Choose your taller stronger males,later ones are better too....always!
The genes of strenght is what you want passed from the males,vigour is most important if you want to inbread over and over but also the later males may pass
less of there genes to the females,sometimes?
Breeding takes time and luck also,its like playing with a deck of cards......
Or a box of chocolates as FOREST GUMP SAID,'you never know what you'll get'??
Skunk#1 Sensi seeds=great super sweet plants carried there smells in f2's fine
but f3's show lots more pheno types but still good for commercial mids......
Chronic Serious seeds= somewhat of a skunk sellection it seems but with a heavy
hitting stone unlike skunks up highs,BIG buds more of an indoor plant but the buds
are light from a sativa influence it seems.......F2's were ok just not my kinda pie??

Thanks I can see my adventure has just started. This may upset some but it seems like growing from seed is more of a science than cloning. So many factors involved getting a stable seed crop. You really have to become a well-rounded grower to rely on seed stock for your crops. Just my 2 cents as a beginner into the seeder world. I had some great success with clones and some good crops but now I am on a different path and have to re-educate myself. Appreciate all the hard earned knowledge.

Another tip for you!!!
Believe me,if you get say a certain strain(skunk#1)
No matter what people say if the strain has been worked,
well then you will always have skunk seeds in your hands!!!
inbreeding that is,making f2's all the way up to f 12's an on..........
Just get the strain first grow out the plants,get to know the smell good,
the style,in the majority of your plants it should be almost the same!!!!
Choose these plants to make f2's an on......thier is a decline,but NOT to worry
if weed declines it may go down a percentage of 25% out of 100% potency....
Not much considering you will have the strain for many many years to play around!!!
Conditions of growth are REALLY important for keeping a strain the same long term...
Make F2's of everything you like,thats what i do besides keep a mom for genetics.
Seed plants are much better for the outdoors,although clones can perform good.....
You will get things done quicker with seed!!!!!!
Make seeds......and make them again...Hamstring its fun!!
Here is som'm else that may confuse you the word (progeny) every clone
has many types of plants within itself,so dont think dusting a clone brings
the same plants again.........maybe if its been bottlenecked to death!!!!!!
