Okay IC, here goes. Lezzdoitagain.

Last batch was all organic, all the time. This time, we're gonna go with various DWC, various organics, for various lengths, for various times. So let's get on with it!

A few issues to take care of before the action gets TOO far underway:

Those f*cking mites. Got this kicked down to me at ye olde garden centre today:

picture.php

Any experience? Anyone?

Personally, I don't put too much faith in these things, unless there's some neem action goin' on. But let's see. Free is worth trying.

But I'm hoping the real solution is here. Will be bombing very soon - getting some other things cleaned up and situated first.

picture.php

4% pyrethrin. Lessee.

This whole project started with a decent handful of free nutes from the Technaflora guy at a show this summer. Okay, may as well do a hydro gimmick this time, since I got all this free food. Great. DWC it is.

Had some initial challenges with some clones and vegging (more later), then once I got things situated in the buckets (two of 'em), they had a pH freakout. Or I did. Well, we did.

But we're good now. Just a couple bruises.

Headband

picture.php

The lower leaves are a bit battered from the pH moodiness. (She wants 5.5 BTW) And, per always, she looks lanky [and is stanky]. Just FIM'd her yesterday.

Purple Mr. Nice

picture.php

Just a weeeeeee lil' baby. Not really, but she's been in a sort of suspended animation since she took root.

So that's the wrinkle, in part, to the current setup. I've been cloning (fine) and vegging (lousy) under T12 fluorescents. You know, like above your workbench.

The 400 W MH will be here in a few hours. :D

Anyway. So I saw the DWC wasn't exactly takin' off. So f*ck it. We're gonna mix it up with some good ol' fashioned DIRT. Yep.

picture.php

On the dirt end, it'll probably be a mixup between small bushlets and lil' louvilles (sluggers, that is).

Will keep things posted here. I'm looking to flip in a week or so. :dance013:

Porn to follow.

Hey ~sprout! Thanks for the company! Always good to see you 'round these parts. Hopefully we can get some more of the fam in here!

So, I'm a bit behind my target start-date here, but I'm VERY grateful - Someone was kind enough to come to my aid in this DIRE time of need! What an awesome gift. All of this today - worlds really CAN change in a day! :tiphat: :cathug:

The goal here is the usu'. These ladies are meaty enough that I'll just throw 'em right into flower, after minimal training. I'd like to lower their profile a smidgen, via bendyovery. We'll see. I'm always conscious of vertical space, .. Anyway, none of this without snagging a cut or two each first.

Chem 4D

Once they go in the oven, around the 2-week mark, they'll all get a considerable haircut. Shooting for big solid spears on each - 4 or 5 or 7 maybe.

USD and HK are gonna stretch a lot... Chem4D and StrawDD won't stretch as much, but they have some stretch too. USD can go 11-12 weeks if you let it. HK 8-9 weeks. StrawDD 9.5-10 weeks. Chem4d 9-10 weeks. Don't let up on the N until after 5-6 weeks. I know you're using a dirt mix, but they need a good amount of cal/mag and N.

Good luck. :D

and I'll give you some Forbid if you haven't ordered it bro... cause it decimates the mites. I won't use anything else. You need that Eagle20 too, right? Hit me up this week and handle that shit.

Thanks man :D I have everyone tied over, ready for some LST'd flowering, .. I'd have switched the clock by now, but my f*cking digital timer isn't liking what I want. In the past, lights came on at 7A, off at 7P. I'm trying to flip it, to on at 7P, off at 7A, in anticipation of the winter months..

And the digi isn't liking the PM to AM switch. I may just buy a f*cking old-fashioned timer, just to get on w the show.

budman

Thanks! I'm proud (and nervous) to have convinced anyone to do anything that I've done. :comfort:

Honestly, I was very anti-tent before I bought it, .. "Oh, f*ck that, lemme just frame out a room of MY SIZE, blahblahblah.." Thing w/ these tents is, .. It's a f*cking pre-fab darkroom! Set it up, you're done. No framing, no light-proofing, .. Just reefering. :D

And in particular, thanks both of you! bobble for your contributions thus far, and budman, for your continued visitation!

Lol... I'm sure the issues with the timer are just operator error. You'll figure it out. I used to have all sorts of issues with timers... Just don't let it happen in late flower.

I agree, .. Minus the fact that I've reset this timer half a dozen times this go 'round, to no avail. Also curious is that last time 'round, despite the fact that the timer is advertised as having 4 independently-timed outlets, timed outlets 2-4 last time ran at the same interval as outlet 1. :wallbash:

Again, despite my repeated re-programming. At this point, the best function of this particular f*cking timer is that it's at LEAST a 4-outlet power strip.

shit I don't even have my timer...haven't had a chance to buy a new one. As of late I've been doing it manually. I'm just going to get a cheap one at the hardware store.

h^2 O, you're a much more bold man than I. I like for my shiat to be dialed in and SET, so's I can set-it-and-forget-it, a la Ron Popeil!

Been a busy Hawaiian today

Nothing herb related, but here's what today's payoff was: Hot pepper jelly from the garden

7 pints, Apricot & Jalapeno, and Apricot & Hawaiian Sweet Hot

hey silver and budman. Yeah I actually turn the switch manually...im only in like day 5 of 12/12 though. So far I've been on it pretty well...I just try not to oversleep or forget. I'll be getting a cheap timer within a few weeks, don't have any cash right now. But yeah, it sucks. Today I had to turn the switch off about an hour too early...so they'll be getting 13 hours today. Yup, shit is ridiculous, if I don't get a timer soon I'm gonna be seeing nanners everywhere

Was downstairs tinkerin' last night, trying to get the damned digital timer to do its thing. Was mostly in the bag last night, so maybe my technical skillz weren't up to par. :friends:

Couldn't seem to get it to work last night.

Came home from the Depot today with a brand spankin' new timer, .. As I was in the room to set up the new timer, I noticed that I was literally one minute away from the set on-time for the [old] digital timer. Figured I'd give it one more chance to work, for shits and giggles.

CHING CHING CHING CHING CHING!

SO! Today will be day 0 for: Ultimate Strawberry Diesel, Chem 4D, and [what I'm most excited for] Hindu Kush!

Also, the veg ladies really seem to like the Metal Halide showering 'em with lumens, vs. the fluorescents. The Headband and Purple Mr. Nice seem to be settling in nicely to their buckets.

Love to see 'em reachin' for the sky, like a modern-day stickup. This one is Headband:

picture.php

I'll be tossin' her in the tent in the next handful'a days, I'm thinkin'.

In the meantime, I'm hopeful to not have another gap between harvests - thanks largely to my new-fangled cloner bucket. Ch-ch-ch-ch-check it:

Day 0

Day 0

It's fixin'a get real full up in here soon. :D

Two 3-gallon smarties, one 5-gallon smartie, and one DWC bucket.

In about two weeks, everyone will get a considerable haircut. I'm going to whittle away all the scraggly crap on the undersides of 'em. Going for big long donksicles.

(Pardon the yellowishness)

And awaaaayyyyyyyy we go :blowbubbles:

Yeah buddy! it's heating up in here! Yeah, ur gonna like the HK. :D It stretches a lot! Be ready for that. It finishes fast and frosty too... Very lemony. I think the USD is going to surprise you. Have you ever had a strawberry diesel? Everyone loves Straw D...

This Headband I have is so vigorous! I have it off to the side, getting indirect light... and it was already big enough to take a cut. I'll probably veg her up and monocrop her...

Thanks again for the help! :tiphat:

I've gotten everyone tied over, .. The HK and the C4D are tied straight over, and the USD (more branchy) has a few of its branches tied over.

The only Straw D I've had was a Straw D x Chemdog. ;) :tiphat:

I'm wondering if I'll regret throwing those bushes into flower off the giddyup, vs. taking cuts and throwing those in once they root. I'm always weary of my vertical space..

That's awesome re: your Headband! I've found it to be very vigorous - probably second only to Green Candy (IME). Wish I could get that cut back.. :shucks:
