I have asthma and usually get bronchitis spring and fall. When I get a nasty cold or flu that heads down into my chest there's a point that I know that I'm done. The doctor usually prescribes an antibiotic and when I'm really bad I get Prednisone.
Even though the cold or flu is viral so the antibiotics won't work on it, there is a risk of secondary infections starting when you've been sick for a long time. The doctor prescribes the antibiotics so pneumonia doesn't develop.
The last time I had bronchitis, I ended up getting shingles cause I was so run down.
You and PTB have been sick long enough now that you should be seeking medical attention.
