So I was wandering through walmart thinking about ventilation and I come across this giant fan, for fun I check the price 12$. The fan is about the size of the side of my grow box... I know ppl say you cant have too much ventilation, but im starting to think this just might be to much. What do you guys think a grow box (veg prolly) that is essentially a wind tunnel is that to much ventilation?

I use two to create an air column for cooling my 1K's. It will work if you blow out, not in at the plants I think.

allright, im thinking i may avoid it, im only using cfls... what would happen if you only had an exhaust. I'm sure it wouldnt make a vaccume or anything but would it just be less efficent or would air come in and out threw the exhaust?

Charles the 6th, I picked up a set of dual fans at wal-mart and used a furnace filter in front of it to keep all sorts of dust, hair etc. from comeing into my grow. It's basicaly set up a a forced air intake, located just about at the base to middle of the plant height. The fans blow right on the plants 24/7, this keeps a nice airflow across them that helps keep the plants stronger...the plants sway lightly back and forth strengthening them!!! I have a 5" x 8" opening cut out at the top left side of my closet door allowing the closet to vent...in-up and out! I also have my ballast mounted against the wall on 2 L brackets in front of the exhaust opening...this allows the ballast to have a constant airflow across it to help cool it down!!! I'm only running a 400W HPS lamp but it does help!

In your case the constant airflow across your plants will help strengthen them and keep a constant fresh airflow in your grow box!

You can just see the fans in the door on the left

Sorry for the ramble, I decided to tell of the other benifits of adding a fan because others will also read this...Don
