Yankees..
They buy their team and their fans are so obnoxious..
If u'r gonna be just like cheering in the stands, pick an underdog and have some character. If you have money on the game, it's different, that's kinda like having stock in a company. But if u'r just gonna be a loud mouth, beer fueled, ass bag in the stands, pick an underdog. Rooting for the Yankees is like going to a casino and cheering for the house. They are always supposed to win.

FOR REAL I WAS SITTING HERE WAITING FOR SOME ONE TO COME AND POST SOMEHTING TO BASH MY YANKESS ! WTF!

I'VE BEEN TAKING SMACK TALK LIKE THIS FOR YEARS! THEY MITE BUY THERE PLAYERS OR WHAT EVER THE CASE MITE BE BUT THEY GET PAID TO DO THERE JOB !!!

ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS NUMBERS DON'T LIE!!!!!! 26 WORLD...... YOU COULD FINISH THE REST!

I WAS BORN A YANKEE FAN, AND WILL DIE A YANKEE FAN!

^ For the record there: I was just quoting one of my fave comics. I have no personal issues with the Yankees. Matter a fact only things i know about baseball are Babe Ruth, Pete Rose, Yankees logo hats and the fact that they call it "the world series" even tho they don't even play that shit anywhere else then USA and Cuba?

Oh and the Major League movies starring Charlie Sheen. :D
And that one South Park episode where they labeled Baseball the most boring sport on earth. :bashhead:

Carry on

Haven't seen their new stadium yet but I was lucky enough to have a hand in '75 in the rebuild. I was too young to be a laborer but had a job as a waterboy during the summer of '75, yeah running coffee, water, donuts, buttered rolls, etc to the construction workers, I got paid $75.00 per week plus tips which made it worth about $250 p/w, tips were big biz to us, we never stopped moving. If the workers saw one of us taking a break we'd hear "Hey BOY! where's that damned water?"

The stadium was tore up big time, me & Greg (another waterboy & close friend) called it "The Hole" because the entire field was dug up as well.

How and why the Yankees can afford their payroll? The tickets are probably the highest price seats in baseball, they sell out EVERY home game of the year, 10 yrs ago a gameday program was $10 ($2-5.00 in other venues), hot dogs were $4.00, a small water $3.50, and the OLP sold worldwide is enormous. The fans pay the price & expect the brass to buy the best players that can be afforded. The only thing money buys is talent, unless the team is properly coached and inspired NOTHING can buy a win. I watch and/or go to the games as a fan of the sport, I can also say that the ONLY team I actually hate is the team playing the Yanks on any given day, in fact once the Yanks are ko'd from playoffs I often find myself rooting for the Red Sox.

MY UNCLE WORKED PUTTING UP THE SCORE BOARD IN THOSE DAY'S. YOUR RIGHT ON THE STADIUM JAM PACKED I REMEMBER GROWING UP IN DA BRONX I WOULD GO WITH MY FATHER EVERYWEEK JUST TO GET WHAT EVER THE WHERE GIVING AWAY THAT DAYFOR LIKE $8, AND TO THIS DAY I STILL COLLECT ALL KINDS OF STUFF THAT HAS TO DO WITH THE YANKEES! I ALSO ROOT FOR THE REDSOX IF THE YANKS ARE IN THE SHITER! BUT I WOULD NOT DO THAT FOR THE METS THATS FOR SURE.LOL!

Take a good long look at this year's NL MVP
just plain 25 yr old david wright.
if you dont know who this budding superstar is, you must be under a rock.

for the record, he plays for my favorite team, NY Mets

and if you don't know who the mets are, you will when they win it all this year!

P.S. all of you that claim to be yankee fans, you just fell down a notch in my book.

The thread is 'rep your team' but as long as you're gonna bitch then hear this.......

Oh Frank, the Mets are gonna suck as much this year as they did last year. You're still pissy about the subway series in 2000 (yeah I was there) when the Yanks handed the Mets a friggin' trouncing. I don't need graphics to drive my point home, as a Mets fan you remember those games all too well.
Sad but true the Mets suck hind titty and will keep sucking this yr. And as far as David Wright goes....... my prediction is that he'll be known in the NYC area as 'the hump in a slump.' He ain't no A-Rod, a true MVP player. Christ when did the Mets EVER have an MVP? NEVER! not even in '69

you feelin' the magic yet? frank.......

Don't get mad at me.
im still on cloud nine after the Giants won the superbowl.

I'm sure your still fired up that the jets won the 6th pick in the draft!

just remember, the yanks are always the best team money can buy.
for the money they spend, its a joke if they dont win.
as far as a-rod, he is the best regular season player, but pulls a "patriots" once it really counts.
so ill say it again, go mets

I hope this thread is still kicking come september

I have a huge love for baseball, I will watch hundreds of games a year, even teams I have no interest in.

Anyone here play MLB.com fantasy baseball? I have been playing the last few years, have a great time with it, gets me following players on teams I knew nothing about before
