No snow on roof is typically a big red flag especially in areas (regions) where indoor grows are endemic.

the melted snow will just tell them to look harder. i.e. take out the flir and scan ur house for anything out of the ordinary before they search. like the hotspot of ur exaust only hittin 1 spot and heating that spot while the rest of the attic is cooler even though the snow is melted on the entire roof. exaust into a chiminey or furnace exaust where heat is suposed to be comming from.
What he said. I saw some canadian policebrochures describing your problem with the snow.I think that growing in a rented house is fraught with risks. Landlord shows up and wants to look around and bam! Busted. You need a stealthy operation when you are renting.
Just sayin'...
Well, worst comes to worst, the landlord HAS to give us 48 hours notice to enter (24 hours if it's an emergency) where I live so we could always tear it down.
The attic is finished.
Right now, we intake through the only window so I'll try to funnel the outtake somewhere downstairs. Might be difficult.
Posted on another thread and people seemed to find the watering the neighbours roofs pretty amusing. I think it's not an overly terrible idea... We have a big back balcony that would give us good access/range.
Will definitely insulate the room and see how that goes. Will report back later but in the meantime, anymore suggestions would be awesome. Thanks!
i learned this a long time ago about attic grows in the winter
imagine what hat would like like on flir .....
if you scrub the air well enough recycle it in the house proper and lower your heat bill or diffuse it through a room in the house and then send it out a window
that wouldnt be a bad idea if its a small room and a small fan. if he is running a fan with a high cfm it will sound like he has a jet engine running in his attic. also if the attic isnt cool enough to cool the air in the duct his grow will just cook the plants and the duct will heat the attic like the exaust is doing already. also i think a 20 foot glowing anaconda in his attic would be suspicious on a flir. good idea if its hooked to a duct cooler close to the exaust of the grow. How about this, take the hole where you vent into the attic, run a long length of ducting in a loop in the attic then reconnect it to the same room. So the air goes into the duct loop on one end hot, gets cooled by the cold ass attic then comes back in in another port cooled.
