Reeferman's Hoa Bac Silver Flower

Well im now well into flower at the 3 and a half week mark. The hoa bac is dwarfing my other strains at over 5' tall after stretch. The smell always surprises me even though ibe done this strain many many times and always keep clones or personally make seeds myself. Its potent, pungent and sour with a hint of lime and menthol (like a vics vapour rub) thc packs on early.. Amazing bud to leaf ratio and i personally love the vigor of this plant. It grows like a typical haze hybrid which is great for trees
Again if anybody has any questions about hoa bac ask away

hoa bac genetics are a must have imo. we just need to let things settle a bit until we can get reef to personally confirm a place we can score his beans legit.

I agree.. These genetics have out lasted any strain i have ever grow.. Managed to find a great pheno and have kept in it my gardens for years. Its rare in terms of availability and its exotic taste, smell and high are quite unique. Its odd this one.. Definitely a treat for any real connoisseur

nice resin for such young buds. impressive, but us posted.
Thats why i keep her.. I know hoa bac tests in around 19-20% but this particular girl is always completely covered in trichomes by week 4 and i can push her 11+ weeks.
Id like to get a lab test done man, this is the only strain i keep leaf trim for personal smoke, straight up, i get very very very HIGH

Looks great. I've been searching a bit and instantly changed my mind
100$/5 SEEDS !!!
I don't know who this "Reeferman" is but that's outrageous;
Never will buy anything from someone who feels no shame charging such a ridiculous price for seeds, no matter which genetics

^ lets get honest. you are not buying seeds. you are buying genetics. a small vial of top race horse sperm is incredibly expensive.

ppl like to claim that they are buying seeds to justify a stingy perspective.

i'm not a reef fan. I've made that clear.

i'm a genetics whore no doubt.

top flight genetics are worth what the market determines they are worth.

Sorry I didn't understand that. If you mean I am stingy for stating that I can understand.
I'd rather say I must not be in adequacy with what the market says.
I wouldn't compare a feminized bottlenecked strain of incertain origins with some of Man O' War's sperm.
And after looking a bit on his site I stick to my gun.
I suppose I'm a bit too extreme, that was just a cry from the heart I couldn't restrain.

The problem is you need to be very lucky to get anything any good from these.
They are allegedly feminised, which is what attracted me to them (lack of space/method of growing means I cannot afford to have males), but they weren't at all. The only 2 I got to grow were both completely male, not hermaphrodite in any way, just full blown males.
For the price (which is probably twice wht it should be) you can get much better genetics from a number of other breeders (Ace, Cannabiogen, Chimera et al).

shit genetics are not worth anything.

seeds that don't germinate aren't worth anything.

shit genetics that don't germinate are a complete scam.

I bought hoa bac when they were first available and they did not germinate.

no one had posted that they got those first release beans to germ.

reef took a load of shit (rightfully so imo) for the first release of hoa bac.

now we are seeing a couple of posts from members giving out rave reviews from their purchases of subsequent releases of hoa bac seeds.

if it settles down and reef vouches for a certain site that has his guarantee that these hoa bac seeds are viable and the real deal then I would gamble some of my money and try them again. he should send them out for free to ppl that got ripped off imo but i'd give them another go with my own money again.

real deal hoa bac seeds are very valuable genetics imo.

bunk ass "got you twice sucker!" hoa bac seeds would be my bad.

"fool me once shame on you.
shame me twice shame on me".

Reeferman's Hoa Bac are Dalats, according to a man in Nam, so he thinks. Said to have a shorter duration of high than Cambodians but I'm sure with the right one and a proper cure it'd be quite a ride.:tiphat:

True. I know for a fact cambodian genetics are more powerful and as you said the high lasts longer.. Buds look better too. Hoa bacs high changes dependent on when it is harvested imo.. Ill do a smoke report for you, taken from 8, 9, and 10 week samples. Final chop at 11 or 12 to sweeten things up a bit

I too have noticed that in some landrace sativas.

my jezebel ( hor aka highland oaxacan red) was best picked a little early by contemporary standards.

my Burmese taken late was a high so miserable.... i'm talking making you feel sad, gloomy.... taken a little early she might have been wonderful, don't know.

I am a little confused now on the smoke reports. looking forward to yours teddyjonez.

Here is a couple pics i snapped while watering last night.. Buds starting to form and trichomes start balling up.. 4 weeks in flower
I will post some of my other strains (same nutes, environment, stage of life) to see how hoa bac compares to more well known varieties

Outdoor Hoa Bac

Outdoor Hoa Bac

My outdoor Hoa Bac's are nearly finished, by the end of September, almost certainly. They've been good growers, and looks like they will yield quality smoke. Unfortunately, I have serious doubts about them being pure Vietnamese.

Bought directly from Reef, so I have no reasonable explanation, unless there was a mix-up on his end, or intentional misrepresentation. They were supposedly feminized, but as BaronGB reported, there were males among the seeds I sprouted. Fair bit of sativa in them by appearance, but buds are quite dense. Aroma is pungent fruit and fuel.

I've grown quite a few sativas before, including Thai and Vietnamese, and the bud structure and aroma on these is unlike any SE Asian I've experienced.

I got mine as freebees.. Well on an $800 order of seeds lol ( I like to buy large if im interested in genetics.. Do about 100 multi strain. Take cuts, label pots, flower, pick phenos)
The first hoa bac pheno was denser like seedypasts, one foxtailed and one was looser, more like a sativa. I eventually chose this one for its potency, vigor, plant structure, and yeild
Sucks to hear about the mass amout of males and mutants leaked by reeferman.. Going to call you out here charles, you owe an explanation to people who sent you money and were never reimburst.. Even worse for not explaining what happened people figure your just sitting back waiting for more money saying quote "got you twice sucker" put it out there, you screwed up. I know you come on these threads but you never once explained whats up. SO WHATS UP REEF

Wow guess I'm glad I didn't get this strain. No offense to either grower, you guys did well, they're pretty plants. But paying for a lesser amount of femed seeds and getting males and on top of that that deep in flower mid September...nah kinda fishy.
