We have roots. Not many but there coming. it doesn't help i also just topped them all.
Every time i transfer a clone from the aero cloner over to a net pot with hydroton they always seem to stall for a whole week and then you'll see a couple 1" roots popping out. then a week after that it seem to be game on. i wish it wasn't so stressful on them. I think im gonna try starting them in a 4" rockwool cube next time and do all the topping and 4 way mainlining and then drop em in the net pot and rockin roll. the roots really puddle up on the bottom of them rockwool cubes, there like a mat of carpet when ya turn em over. When ya drop one in the net pot you get way more tap roots going down to the root ball that will eventually fill the dwc bucket. my friend did this and i was really amazed with the amount of roots came out of his netpots. i normally just get 10-15 cord like roots going into a rootball, he gets like 30-40. im jelly lol
I've experimented with using rockwool vs straight to soil and/or hydroton........WITHOUT rockwool is MUCH better.
Just leave your clones in the cloner for another week so the root systems are long (like 12") add a small amount of nutes too. In my cc system, I'll drill a hole about the size of a nickel in the net pot and then thread the clones roots through that hole before dropping them in the veg system.
BTW- in one of heaths grows, he shows the importance of water level being an inch ABOVE the bottom of the net pot for LESS cord roots.
Do you chill your res?
If not what are your water temps running?
SGS
Yes Sir, i do chill my res, i run 70 degrees when rooting then kick it down to 68 a week later
In flower i run it a little lower 65-67. i use to use no chiller but the growth rates were horrible vut i still got nice healthy roots. my water temps were like 78 before i made my chiller but the Orca bennies worked wonders and never got root rot.
Made your chiller?
Orca Bennies?
SGS
but ive yet to fill 5g buckets completely with roots. that would really be nice
