Hello everyone,
so i have 18 white widdow, skunk #1, and lemon skunk lassies in 5 gal buckets, in blaze1's soil mix, and using his nute tea. They have been under 3200w 24hr light veg for 2.5+ months. they are bIIIg. humongo bushes, 3ft tall just the plant, cant even get close to wrapping your arms around them.
we just flipped the lights to 12/12 a week ago, and are adding an additional 2400w and HPS bulbs this week, bringing it up to 5600w. We have been battling root binding all along, had to make several transplants into larger containers. we want to transplant into 20 gal wheelable bins, they are only a few inches taller than a 5 gal bucket, but obviously much wider.
so my question is will the roots immediately start growing horizontally without any problem? considering they have basically been forced to grow in a vertical manner in all previous containers. i know that plants prefer to spread their roots horizontally, im just not sure if this change will induce stress or result in not being worth the money spent on soil mix and time. i just feel like at 3ft tall going into flower, they will be big big girls. they have been in the 5 gals for probably a month now, and up to this point we have been transplanting about every month b/c it gets root bound.
thoughts?
