"In a statement, Miller said she was “proud her amendment was included to close the loophole that has allowed drug-infused THC products like Delta-8 to be sold to teenagers in packaging that looks like candy.”
I've never understood the rationale for cartoon packaging and the ridiculously silly names that is so prevalent in the cannabis industry. Oregon banned the use of these names on any packaging: Girl Scout Cookies, Grape Ape, Candyland, Charlotte's Web, Cinderella, Dr. Who, Bubblelicious, Smurf, Bruce Banner, Death Star, Skywalker and Jedi Kush.
As long as the ridiculous names and packaging continues there are going to be people that will use it to say that they're marketing to children. And they make a good point. Why package a product to look like candy for a child if it's meant for adults.
I doubt this amendment will make it in the final bill.
