sup icmag, my name is medium pimpin'!!
this is my 1st grow diary here.
im a converted soil guy who'se attempting ebb-n-flow.

specs are as follows:
2 x 400w cmh in tubes
9kbtu split a/c
265 cfm fan pushing air thru the tubes.
can66 scrubber
2'x2' trays
2 x 40gallon trash cans (using 30 gallon for rez)
airstones, air pumps, flood pumps etc etc
enough BS, some pics, veg day 1.
room isnt complete yet, still building the hidden doors w/ magnetic locks.
got a tarp for a door for now.

strains are ChemD and Mango Haze

Are you using co2?

I have seen pics with the fan and filter recirculating the air in the room, i.e. no exhaust. Whats the deal? Is that the way its done, cuz I have my filter sending the air outside and bring outside air in that I send to a small room with an a/c then send that cool fresh air into my grow room, I don't use co2 though, and it takes a bit of fans aswell.

mr.spliff, no co2 yet. want to get my skills up 1st, then who knows. the room is gonna be 100% sealed. so i could down the road if i wanted.
as far as the tubes, air comes from outside>tubes>back outside.
no air in the closet is effected.
i did this to keep it sealed.

john goodman, those are lava rocks.
found em in the bbq section of home depot.
i used hydroton for 3 out of the 18 pots cuz i ran out.
ive heard that cleaning hydroton can be a real PITA.
so i figured i could throw these on the grill to clean them in between runs.
cook the plant matter right off them instead of soaking them overnight.
idk if it will work, just a thought at this point.
i can let u kno in about 3 months

forgot to mention that im using PBP and Liquid Karma, CalMag+ (if needed) for nutes.
grabbed a lil jug of liquid koolbloom too for a booster.
never used it b4, but ive read alot of good things.
and who cant use bigger buds?

i fed @ 10ml/g of pbp and 5ml/g of LK from tyhe jumpoff.
my tap ppm is about 200ppm @ 7.0-7.5 ph.
that bumped up the ppm to about 1050.
used ph down to get it around 5.8ph.

well guess what?
TOO HOT!
got a lil leaf twist and discoloration, plus tip burn.
so i drained the res today and refilled it.
3ml/g pbp and 2ml/g lk.
ppm's are about 400 -450
ph down to about 5.3-5.5
we see how this goes.
sure hope i dont fuck up and lose any crops.
i figured for mishaps along the way.
thats why the bigger, more forgiving res.

thx for the + vibes.

i never rinsed my hydroton b4 use, so it was making my ph go up.
after thinking i was retarded, read a lil, and flushed the 3 pots w/ the 'ton.
it now sits pretty stable around 5.7-5.8

i was seeing what looks like P def on the hazes in the 'ton.
figured lockout due to higher ph.
i added 1ml/g of cal/mag and 1ml/g of pbp bloom.
a few heads told me they like to add a lil bit of bloom ferts to veg.
figured 1ml/g wouldnt kill me.

Def caused by high ph (i believe), only in the unwashed hydrton pots

nuteburn? (fans look mottled, new growth is now cool)

i also turned the fan in my a/c on, just for circulation.
day after, i noticed a slight cup on the edges of the leaves.
i thought this was "praying" for Mg?
could be heat stress? maybe its the fan blowing on em?
light has been at the same level this whole time and its not hot at all.
fan wasnt blowing too hard, but i put her on quiet mode.

ph is now about 5.6-5.7 for both res'
ppm on the mango around 470
ppm on the chem is 620.
seems to be stable now.

any pointers for a noob, hydro guru's?
